Yeah, I am not confident that his body will hold up.

"..........2021 season (Berry) was hampered by injury – first a hamstring, followed by a persistent groin issue and then a strained calf......."
At $268k his upside and ceiling is way too great to ignore, will probably make more cash than some of the rookies this year.
So I have this D4 issue where I am finally happy with my team yet D4 have 270k to spend on. Bot a lover of Chapman, Answerth type picks.

Looking at my side, If a cheap rookie is pick that I dont have, was just looking who I may downgrade who may free up capital.

I landed on Berry. Think he goes 90 ave which makes you $150k, maybe more if he has a spike in there. Out of all my 200k guys I have, that extra 50-70k cost feels like he has similar gain as others. Percentage chance of making money is good. Prefer a McGovern right now who is similar price.

Having said that, the cash only allows me to go up to a Sicily/Hewett which I dont love either.

Wow, the AFLW has been the night before for the whole season, and I can't remember the last year that we got Monday match AFL squads announced on a Thursday or Friday.

Agree, Berry has good upside, but so many other Mids have as well, so somebody has to miss out getting selected. I haven't ruled out Berry, but if I have to eliminate a Midfielder, then he is high on my list.

Defence is going to give me the most issues and the Midfield looks like where I have to sacrifice players, to prop up my Defence.
I'm not keen on Sicily, Whitfield, Hewett or Chapman, but with the possible lack of Defence Rookies, it may force me to select one of those players.

I have family involved in the lions somewhat, they all rate Berry as the equal of any other mid based on potential. Apparently kept trying to come back early last season, hence the re-injury saga.

The problem is with Wednesday and Thursday games we might not have the luxury to be waiting to see who gets named for structural decisions.
The price difference between options makes this year really challenging. Having a setup that allows you to jump on a good rookie could also see you with $300k or $400k left in the bank after lockout. Have to make sure we don't make bad choices just because there is money burning a hole in our pocket.

It is so tempting to start Sinn and wait till he gets a game......so tempting. Tommy Rockliff on podcast thinks he plays within the first 4 rounds. Dont like that given competition for spots, injuries, anything can happen.

He was very confident Jed Mcentree plays, mid/fwd $123k.

I don’t have Sinn at the moment but if named will be considering. Only problem I see with all theee of Hinge/Gibcus/Sinn is that they could all be out of their respective teams by Rd 4 which will only exacerbate the lack of rookies if fielding three on field. Might be a risk I’m willing to take but at this stage I think I’d prefer to choose 2/3 and then if I get it wrong have the back-up option to trade in.
If the value is in the mids I feel it’s the cards we’ve been dealt as frustrating as it is.

If Rowell goes 105-110 you’ll be kicking yourself.

I rate inside info highly, so that is going to influence me. Still, he had a hamstring, groin and a calf injury in 2021, that still concerns me though.

Interesting strategy, Sinn could be used as the Captain Loop for the first 3 rounds.

Port rate him highly, so I would not be surprised if Sinn plays early in the season.
But I would prefer a playing Rookie that is earning money in the first 4 rounds.

I could use McEntree in the Forward line, but I read somewhere he has poor job security.

Sinn would be the most expensive floating donut ever to start round 1
