Plowman has been in the top 10 B&F multiple times, even 4th two years ago iirc. Hasn’t played tall often and normally plays on midsizes like Martin, Heeney, Gray and does okay but playing the best can get beaten. Gets smashed playing the small forwards but Carlton has never had a defensive small and when Stocker played the role when Plowman was injured was totally out of his depth.

But agree he has a lot of short comings, but really is just competing with Boyd as the defensive small/midsize and I would be much more comfortable with Plowman isolated with Martin in the goal square than Boyd.
I mean if they were happy with Plowman it might explain why Teague's out of a job

If he doesn't play this year it would go a very long way to the Blues being a significantly better side. Not a bad guy to have as the 25-30 type on your list in case of injuries but if he's in your best 22 or finishing top 10 in your B&F, you're going to have a very long season!

Fun fact - One SuperCoacher won the prize with Plowman at F8 - didn't trade him all year (unlike me). If only we had this view that he is good for best 30 just not your 22. Safe 40 if you ever had players out..

Agree, these days need to do more than just purely lockdown.

I really believe Plowman is still a walk-up start in the best 22. Haven't been a huge fan of him for a while now but there is nobody else on our list to play that roll in the team. Playing Kemp in that role seems to be a waste of his skill and talent, and Boyd is just not big enough imo.

I believe Plowman was coming back from an injury when he played in the VFL game instead of being named for the AAMI game, so I think it may have been him easing back into it, rather than actually being dropped from the best 22.

That being said, it is still strange to me that he played the last quarter in the AAMI game if he was coming back from injury.

As for Kemp, he will likely be in and out of the team a fair bit this year. Its a blessing and a curse with his versatility - hopefully he picks a position and sticks with it soon.

For those that have jumped on Xerri after his positive performance. Charlie Comben had a bad bout of Gastro that week. So there could still be a change in that round 1 line up.

I worry about his job security. Just think if CCJ is back he will likely be in front of Comben. Have said that, CCJ apparently gets injured a lot. Dixon now has competition for his spot.

Still have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do about Cripps, Rowell, Mcgovern.

Never featured in my pre-AAMI sides, and are currently in my team based on 1 single pre-season game.

Just not enough evidence to be comfortable with these picks.

Doesn't matter with Cogs IMO, at that price if Cameron told me he was running drinks all season I'd probably still take him
He's averaged at least 91 regardless of role for 6 seasons straight prior to last year. Midfield is better but he scores anyway and he'll play plenty of mid. One of the better F50 stoppage players and very good at ground level. Not as bad as a Heeney, Cripps, Petracca or Bont where it's their aerial skills that make them good forwards which get largely nullified when Grimes, Rampe et al go to them as forwards as opposed to having mismatches against most other midfielders when pushing forward.
