Looking at floating donut options (WC, Ess, Haw and GC being the best teams for the opening 9 rounds) I was all set to go with Uwland (M/D). However, now that Gibcus has been named, I may take him at D7 and roll with Essendon's P. Voss (D/F) as the floater with SDK (assuming he is also named) in the opposite part of the ground. Allows me to get a look at both Gibcus' and Durdin's scores for round 1. This could end in tears

$171k for a bloke who will average what, 55? It's not great.
I think theres a genuine chance he averages 40 to be honest, people have massive expectations of a lightly framed key defender in his first season of senior footy.

Look at McAsey and DGB's scoring playing as first year low production key defenders, that's alot more relevant than what Butts did last year for mine.

Always a big advocate for the floating donut. Going to try to (purposely) avoid it this year.

In before Macrae 150, Gibcus 85 :ROFLMAO:

McAsey started as a forward though didn't he?

Started in defence and got moved forward, then just got dropped altogether, I started him that year and it was pain personified, just got stuck with a dud rookie.
He would have been higher priced as well, was pick 6 from memory?
Also Gibcus is a Victorian junior, they didn't play much last season, Daicos trained with the Pies I think at least for him.

I think that the thing holding back Gibcus ATS is that he doesn't get a lot of intercept marks, he's got a huge leap and nullified JackR in all of the intraclub games with his closing speed and ability to spoil, he'll pick up a few +6's but until he starts sticking those contested marks he'll be a low scorer with good JS and really only a bench option.
