Looks like most of us will need the extra trades this year for Covid purposes, and not to get your team maxed out quicker as I thought might have been the case.

Glad Sic is OK, shame at least 2 others have it at the Hawks. I actually took Sic out of my team yesterday (restructure), so might have helped my SC if he did miss, but would definitely rather him play. Took Stewart out too, as I thought he might miss Rd 1, seems he is playing now.

Fun times tonight dealing with all the news from today.

That's what they did all last year but with Henderson instead of SDK. The odds of Geelong restructuring their defense for 1 round around Bews or Duncan/Menegola is highly unlikely. The main questions for SDK were Blicavs, Henry and Kolo. Now that they are all named with SDK, this is as good of a confirmation as we are going to get that its SDKs spot to lose.
Their you go then should pay more attention , every time I watched Geelong last season could have sworn Blicavs was playing wing or in the ruck.

The mention about Duncan and Menegola was more about does that shift Smith & Touhy more into a HB role ? (don't know their wing setup well enough , if they primarily use one wing or play defensive wingers and attacking wingers both sides) , I guess with Duncan , Menegola & Smith they all just run all day in any case.

Narrow ground as well so they probably adapt to the conditions and size.

I guess they just play 5 talls in defence and take turns rotating HB & W.

O'Connor probably fits in somewhere down back as well.

Is anyone starting:

Jordan Dawson

Tom Mitchell

now they are seemingly confirmed for Rd 1 or too much of a risk?
I was/still am really high on Dawson this year but interrupted pre season is a red flag. If you like some of the other options enough I’d pick them and go Dawson later.

Same can be said about Titch if you like him.

I certainly don't claim to be an expert on Geelong, but I'm pretty confident Blicavs has been settled in defense for at least a year now. If he was to get moved up the ground, than that would just solidify SDKs position in the team as they would need an extra KPD.

They do typically like to play 4 talls plus Stewart who's more medium sized and ends up playing on smalls most of the time. But I guess most of their talls are pretty mobile so it seems to work. Will be interesting to see what they do if Francis doesn't get up and Essendon only name 2 talls. Could be a classic Chris Scott late out.
