Are people looking to downgrade some of the expensive rookies down to the cheaper options that are available ?

Could mean getting an extra premium on field.
No. I'm spending up a fair bit on the bench. Suspect 'health and safety protocols' [which should be my new team name (and allow me to add players on that list to my team)] will claim a few from week to week. I don't want to be fielding those cheaper rookies, so I'll have one premo rookie across each line.

Interesting though, a lot of the team reveals on Jock Reynolds ran really skinny benches, lots of the big 4 premos. They weren't really nailing the extra premo. I suspect that would be the approach most would take with the extra cash - 13 premos including Cogs and all players $Hewett up.

I wouldn’t call myself a professional at this game or anything but I think people highlyyyy underestimate the benefits of a loophole not only in relation to captain but also rookies

I always carry around Atleast one loop aswell as often a non playing r3, and it seems to not hurt me to badly, in fact I reckon it gains me points in the long run.

The ability to loop rookies who are highly inconsistent probably is the best part
But each to there own
Every time I've picked a dedicated non-starter for VC loophole purposes, it turned out I didn't have to. There is always one or two rookies not playing most weeks anyway.

Yes, he will hold his spot.
Yep, has played every game since he debuted including the finals last year.

Showed flashes of stuff last night - kicked a goal, took a kick out, was somewhere near the centre bounce (noted I was listening to the radio), and shown great bravery at the end of the game going back with the flight. Depends on Salem's injury but might get more of it next week.

I am treating him as a (very) expensive rookie who may get downgraded if a cheaper back rookie shows themselves.

I don't get the logic of going cheaper on the bench so you can still pick Cripps, Rowell, Sicily, Hewett and the likes anyway.

Hearing Curnow might have pulled up a little sore. Will update when know more
Rumour has been cleared and Charlie will play, unless something happens between now and game.

I personally haven't picked him in my side due to his durability, but I for one hope he works for whoever takes a punt as it means he's done well for the baggers

Yeah which is mainly because people start rookies who end up being dropped after couple rounds, I’d rather start a 102k dpp rookie who plays last every week to make sure I can gain points from it

And start rookies who are more or less better and can hold there spot

I was sorely tempted as some points to take my Pruess cash (and then some) to upgrade D6 into Rioli. I think it's short sighted be initially attractive.
It's probably easier to start without Preuss and find a way to get him using Xerri or some other 200k type if he demands a spot. There's always the chance the he doesn't play straight away, or that he does play but doesn't score well.

Probably I’d say but he will have pretty poor job security. Before the news of Stringer and Snelling I thought he’d the sub so I think he’ll be in, but when they come back he’ll be vulnerable. The flip side is he may have good scoring potential or play his way into a permanent spot
