Job security/ scoring potential/role they play are very important with the rookies. I would rather pay that bit extra on a rookie that meets those criteria that taking a punt on a speculative cheap rookie named for round 1 - I think Owens is a classic example of a rookie that people see is named round 1 at such a cheap price but then scores poor/gets dropped & becomes a dud rookie so you waste a trade on him.
Sticking with the rookies I have put the research into myself unless - need just 1 more confirmed in Dylan Stephens & I am set. Happy to pay the extra for him given his wing role ( taken Dawson's position) & a few years in the system so body is AFL ready.
Lloyd is a tomorrow problem, but neither of the Port rookies getting up means I'm still scrambling a little. Guess I'm taking Durdin after all, I really don't like the pick though.
Yeah, it is underselling him in the way I put it, but he is very much needed. Small, was inaccurate, let's say he fits the evasive, agile forward genre.
