So a few decisions to make, my head was not capable last night:

1. Lloyd > Crisp/Rich or Lloyd > Sicily (+$ = where to use dollarbucks [in Hindsight Hewett,] but perhaps a fwd. Don't think it's enough $150K or so, to do anything much with Rowell)

2. Keep Lloyd as C and get Gibcus score onfeild. (Short term pain, for what I guess would be a bit of a pod with Lloyd - but would it make that much difference?)

3. Do I ditch or keep Dixon and look for a rookie C loop agent elsewhere, to get Macraes VC 133 - I'm loathe to give up any playing rookie potential cash gen.

4. Any other suggestions?

Appreciate it.

If you want a donut Rachele to Kreuger via SDK or McCartin. Then grab Crisp.

Hough & Witherden played in the same team in the last practice game.
Duggan a few weeks away, Shuey maybe next week.

How far away is Billings, Jones & Clark?

Owens was a surprise inclusion for round 1 , I haven’t seen much of him so happy to be more informed about him.

I do know Simmo is very impressed with how quickly Hough has adapted to the higher level & stated he has afl level running patterns/ knows where to go. That’s why I am comfortable taking him even though he is very skinny along with his role flexibility.
I did notice Hurn's game time was quite low though, so I thought maybe that's why Hough and Witherden played together? You'd know about the Eagles players better than me though! :p Good to know Hough is flexible!

I think the St Kilda boys are a fair way away.

I might be wrong, but I think the rookies who play round 1 after not playing pre-season (or had really low game time) are usually quite good.

e.g. Lewis Taylor, Petrevski-Seton, Wilkie, Gowers, Bailey Smith off the top of my head.
correct, if they had an injury that held them back from playing. Is this the case?

Many of those players were also talked about during preseason. Has it been injury driven?

Firstly Dixon is playing so get him to the bench quick smart.

I'm okay with one flonut provided it's not a must-have rookie who gets replaced. I would like to have NOD as a FDTP so I reckon you should consider that for Soligo/Hough who could very well turn into a donut who doesn't float shortly anyway. Also opens up the DEF/MID loop for you.

Lloyd to Crisp looks good in your situation too I reckon.

Yeah, I grabbed McDonald instead of Soligo, earlier - and did have NOD in an earlier iteration so it makes sense. So in that case it would be Hough to NOD. Thanks for that.

And yes, I got Dixon onto the bench right after I noticed him in the screen shot. :D

Well, the time has come to commit.
Here's my starting side, with a late change of Lloyd -> Stewart.
I was always planning to start one, and upgrade into the other so it's not much of a re-shuffle for me.
One (of many) risks is taking Sinn as a starting donut, but I think he will get games.

Luckily I rechecked my team this morning and noticed Lloyd was omitted...
Here it is for what it is worth, I decided to take some risks, I may need to invest in an ambulance...
I have been very scabby paying for the midfield and left some money in the bank to make some corrections.

All the best for the Supercoach season!

Nah I don't think he had an injury, but St Kilda had a couple more players available for those games.

Thanks mate, thoughts Hewett after last night's performance?
I've cooled on Xerri and took him out for one of the $117k mids (Soligo/Hough/Macdonald). Moves Cogs forward and gives you dollars to play with without burning up a trade.

Butters is a solid pick but that midfield really needs an anchor and you're already stocked with forwards. Could you take him to Touk or Steele (Brodie forward)?

Then next week (or R3 even) you can correct as required: Curnow to Durdin and someone like McGovern (or Hinge???) up to Hewett.

If you crunch the numbers and find you need an extra $50k to make it, Hall down to Ridley could be done before they play, again unlocking dollars for flexibility without using up the trade.

Any of that taken your fancy? :D

Yeah the $117k option is interesting. Cash is always great!

🤦🏻‍♂️

Always go with your own instincts…didn’t do much research into Owens but plenty into Hough, watched his preseason game 3 times to confirm role/ how he played so comfortable taking him.
Then change your mind just before bouncedown tonight - so angry at myself

In the same boat mate. Don't worry, we have 5 extra trades this year. I'm planning to get rid of Owens before round 3 to another rookie. Will wait to see how round 2 goes. I'm sure we'll need to do some other corrective trades as well. The trade booster also looks like it'll come in handy. I'm willing to use it to ensure the rookies we choose are nailed.
Let's just hope the rest of the rookies perform this round though...
