If Treloar averages 109 you can get him for ~60k more inside round 10, given the questions on the role and his durability, I'd pay that premium to be sure.

It's 100k if Butters does it but, perhaps more importantly, 42% of teams have Butters which given only 49% of teams have Neale indicates that roughly 90% of teams that actually matter have Butters right now. That's a very significant fade on a guy who really only seems not likely to do 100 if he gets hurt and definitely has the profile to go 110+.
I think we were given strong indication that Treloar will be playing more midfield time this year, specifically from a CB.

Reckon Macrae's CBA minutes will decrease slightly alongside his TOG. But the vast majority of minutes will be transferred from Bont/Smith to Treloar/Dunkley. Smith in particular had 7 games with >55% CBA, and another couple in that 30 - 50% range, expect that to almost completely disappear as he settles on a wing/half forward.

If I were to guess their midfield set up, it might look something like (adding up to 300% CBA):

1. Macrae - 75%
2. Libba - 60%
3. Treloar - 60%
4. Dunkley - 55%
5. Bontempelli - 50%

Minor minutes from Daniel, Lipinski, Mclean should also be cleaned up as the big 5 get heavily rotated through the midfield.

Expecting round 1's opening CB to feature - Bontempelli, Treloar, Dunkley (with Macrae and Libba at HF)

North Melb.
I ditched Rowell and Cripps, swung Dunks into the mids and have Butters F1. One rookie on field in the backs (do have Hewett), Gawndy, Ward at M8.

Feels...nice. :sneaky:
Very similar.
I kept Rowell (M4) but ditched Cripps and it's giving me one rookie on-field in the backs which I like.

I've got to a point where each of my lines feels equally compromised and the choice to improve a position puts the balance out of whack somewhere else. So I guess it's done for now pending team sheets? :sneaky:

Currently got durdin and Hayes at f7 and f8, will swing English from R2 with Hayes next week if Preuss is named on field. If xerri doesn't look like he is taking the first bounce and Goldstein is lumbering up to the centre square, I could move xerri down to Rachele. What do we think xerri scoring potential is if he plays only 30% ruck?

How does Liam Henry look as a stepping stone forward in DT?

I’ve ended up with him as F5. Apparently playing more wing, priced at 38.

Be interesting seeing people's forward lines Round 2 if Hayes , Martin & Rachele are all fieldable.

Guess most will have Dunkley & Cogs.

Where does that leave the other $200-300k players like Brodie , Curnow , McGovern , Xerri etc

Durdin and who on the bench ?

Whole dynamics has changed after one round.

As always, decent cheap rookies find a way to emerge. The overload of $200-300k cash cows is unnecessary.

I guess after one round we can happily make that conclusion , see what happens in the future.

Hindsight is such a wonderful thing but would be extremely surprised if anyone fielded all 3 of Hayes , Martin & Rachele in their forward lines deliberately.

I guess I'm just making a point that people spent all pre-season panicking about the lack of rookies compared to other seasons and then bang... Hayes, Rachele & Martin all go 114+ whilst Port get a few injuries which may bring Sinn and/or Skinner into the picture. Daicos & JHF lived up to the hype and Durdin looked very comfortable too.

Things are just never as bad as they seem when it comes to the rookies IMO.

Think it was widely known Rachele was playing though , Hayes without Ryder , Martin's debut announcement appeared late.

Only have Durdin as a forward rookie so not sure how the others fared.

Couple of mid rookies were underwhelming , defence seemed ok.

Hopefully it continues

Yes.

JS is still a concern for Hayes and Martin imo, although their cases are much stronger than they were pre rd 1.

Hopefully Ryder plays this round to get a better idea of Hayes , Stringer back for the Bombers although I think they lose a couple due to injuries as well.

AFL tracker says Lipinski had 33% defense, 67% forward. I thought they would have a mid section as well.
