He won't be much better there, Daicos and Pendles getting the lion share of the pill down back.

I think I have been very very vocal about not rating Crisp since his pre-season games, we have brought in a lot of mid/def types into the team which will decrease his scoring potential both as a midfielder and as a half back.

I'm not sure why anyone would expect the debutant to get a prime midfield role.

This is a side that doesn't playing Billings or Hunter Clark in the midfield because Ratten genuinely prefers Crouch, Dunstan, Hanners, Jones and Ross types, he just doesn't value speed (Jones does have) or ball use there, it's good for Steele (who is a good ball user to be fair) but it hurts anyone who is somewhat dynamic or kicks well because it's not valued.

Most of their mids are out. I don't see the point of picking a 1st gamer, playing him in an unfamiliar role, then giving him barely 50% gametime. Not good for his confidence.

Why the hell did I go against my instincts … on Hough/ liked his role before I read that info(can’t recall who posted it/ not their fault either passing on info) but it reinforces that late tinkering inevitably ends in tears 😭
