Strategy 2022: Round 2 Trades

‘happy to wait a week on Hayes. My biggest issue is Milera. Even though I own crisp and Ridley. Happy to stick fat with them even though Ridley was a last min replacement for Lloyd who I forgot about then Essendon had the early game while I was at work. Also happy to give ward another crack.

so back to Milera. I can only really sideways him to another player at a similar price, or downgrade him to skinner if he’s named. Or I’d have to use a premium who will lose some value.

so it could be Steele to crisp, Milera to Hewett. Kind of leaves a sour taste as it’s almost a reverse of what I did at 710 last Thursday. Only difference is Id now hve miller over steele.

next is steele, Milera out. Lipinski hall in.

other options are Gawn to Witts which would allow Milera to Hewett and ward to lipinski.

anyone Looking at turfing players they still like just to not take their price hit?

Assuming the bolded player is meant to be Cripps, I reckon that's a fair option, and probably the only one I would consider of the sidewaysy options mentioned (but I remain a Lipinski skeptic at this stage. I was Hewett-skeptic too but I feel that identity sloughing off more quickly).

If you can do something useful with the money gained from Milera>Skinner, my gut would be to wait a week and take that course. If not, I'd have itchy sideways fingers.

And yes, I often turf players at this time of year who I still like and plan to get back in, if that facilitates a restructure I like. Sometimes it's just a necessary evil.

Crisp and Berry to Petracca and Foley. I have bench rookie cover if Foley doesn't survive

Foley a bit of , particularly next to the caveat that you have cover if he doesn't survive. Double particularly with Sinn and Skinner looking likely to come in and make the GnR DEF structure seem much more viable. I would wait on that one myself.

Dropped/injured player > missed cash cow is a move worth doing for mine.

Hard to justify everything else.

Not sure I agree with that, there's a lot of DPP in amongst those options. Especially if you picked up like, Owens or something, there wouldn't be anything wrong with sticking Sinn on the mid bench (or Hewett on field if you want to shift Ward off, say).

It would be simple to flick the sketchy midfield bench rookies via DPP to fit those guys in if needed.

Yeah it depends on the scoring potential of Skinner & Sinn though. If they put up 40-50s like Hinge/Gibcus, they don't really fix anything.

When I bring in Hewitt next week (assumed at this stage), he'll probably be living in my midfield given I've already got Sicily at D5. Alternatively SDK or McCartin might get flicked to the forward line - there's plenty of rearrangement options. Similarly Sinn and Skinner both have DPP, so there's plenty of flexibility if you're targeting them.

I watched some of the GWS V SYD game and like others was disappointed with Whitfield. He didn't seem to get up the ground as much as I would like - does anyone have a heat-map for him in R1?
And more generally does anyone know if there is a publicly available source for heat-maps - thought I could get them from the AFL website but cant remember where to look..

Skinners a key defender thats done two ACL's I wouldn't be throwing my structure or solid rookies out the door to get him.

Skinner takes a lot of intercept marks at sanfl level. With him replacing allir for a good ten weeks I'd be pretty confident selecting him. I'm thinking about trading to him this week depending on selections!

I'm kind of miffed with Berry only having 4 cbas plus his poor kicking. I think he gad 11 cbas in the trial.

Also thinking of Martin and Gresham. Gresham had heaps more mid time than the trials. Hopefully Dylan Stephens gets dropped and I can justify trading. 35 is so many!

Bergman will be back this weekend and Clurey is only meant to be 3 or 4 away, not sure Skinner is that secure myself, they also have the option to swing Finlayson to defence once Dixon is back, I'd definitely be waiting until Round 4.

I'll be waiting at least another round for Skinner. Thought of a re-structure but don't really need it. Its been hard to know when Bergman was coming back, but he isnt taking allir's spot. I'm hoping he plays high forward with a bit of mid time. I would have thought he would put Mead at risk depending on injuries. When Dixon comes back I would have thought Finlayson and Marshall would be fighting for a spot. They were both very average against Brisbane. Clurey would be a risk for Skinner but I think he would be more fighting for a spot with Mckenzie.

I'm actually feeling more justified in a berry to gresham trade probably facilitated by someone dropped to Martin. If gresham and Berry had the same cbas in the trial match as round 1 then I would have picked gresham.

I've found myself considering a double move that I never normally would, butttttt it seems kinda good given it feels like a big upgrade on Chapman.

Oliver/Chapman > Brayshaw/Hewett.

The thing I like about this plan is that it leaves flexible for a move or two next week (have Rachele and Durdin in my sights).

Wait, so you're going to have SIX defenders in your team? I wouldn't be recommending this, especially when there are plenty of future DEF options on the horizon (players like McGrath and McDonald likely to get DEF status after R6).
