Cripps in... but it probably has to come at the expense of a defender (Hewett D5, so there's some options above him).

Problem is, that means bringing a rookie or mid-price def. Maybe Sinn looks amazing

That takes two trades already which means if I want to punt McGovern (and I really do), it might be boost time. Seems like such a waste!

Anybody see a way around that pickle?

You always know when a popular player's had a shocker because of how early the trade thread opens up!

Looks like I now go Gov + Owens to Martin + Rowell.

Liked English's game but 99 against Pittonet surely isn't enough to dismantle my structure. Definitely in the general forward conversation though.

The obvious solution is to make the first trade this round to generate the cash for the restructure. Probably means biting on Sinn unsighted. Given the team sheets for Port I'd be jumping on Skinner though, his spot is there for 8 weeks while Sinn is in for Gray which is probably short term, he's also cheaper and got DPP so could always grab Sinn next week if he blows it apart for Gov.

Cripps, I just can't do it to myself. The pain last year hurt real deep or could I??? NOOO "remember this lol"
Let last year go.

Then assess it again and make a call. A lot of the reasons you didn't start him may have changed or may still be there and you should make the decision on that.

If you didn't pick him because of durability, that still exists as a concern. If you didn't pick him because of scoring concerns I'd argue that has lessened considerably. If it's a bit of both, where is the weighting? If it's something else, what's the equation say now?

Is there a chance Motlop is the Gray replacement, and Sinn is just replacing Mead though?

English is a perfect example of nice if you have him, no issue if you don't.

None of the ruck options last week showed any sign you should move them for him, so it would be a forward restructure if you were chasing. Reckon he's one to put high on the list of upgrade targets at the position because having him by the byes could offer huge value with an extra score during the ruck bye of doom and he's definitely looking good for top 5 in that position.

There's also the Martin factor who definitely hurts him when he plays.

I'm ending up here as well - one of the DPP Port guys in to give me a 7th defender so I can make any move required next week.

For sure but you're still looking at the guy who was 24th on the list last week and is now 22nd this week and Mead had basically everything go right for his role last week and still couldn't put up a big score.

To pay 160k for him unsighted is a pretty big punt.

To be clear, I really like him and think he could work but I'd rather have a flexible DPP guy at 120k in a certain role who has a slightly lower ceiling if I'm going sight unseen this week. Obviously could go for other targets as well, doesn't have to be either of the Port guys.
