Lots of people going for Bowey... but unless you started him it feels like the maths is pushing you uphill 
Pre-season you might have had him averaging 60; maybe now you revise that to 80-85. Means he gets to low $400ks at best, is not really a keeper (Salem is coming) and has cost you two trades (one in, one out) to produce $150k of value.
Unless the player you are removing is complete dead-wood or you're structurally stuck, feels like burning up trades.

But I think it is situational, if you are running Chapman (at around the same price point), it is becoming clear he will not be able to average 80-85, so is not compete dead-wood, but is pretty close.
At least flicking him to Bowey, whist it costs two trades, the 100-150 k he will make in the next 2 weeks is way beyond what any other defence rookie is going to get.
I agree Bowey is unlikely to be a keeper and will cost two trades, but with Salem out for a further 6 weeks, I think his role has improved and has a much better scoring potential now.
If you are running a poor rookie or MP player that has clearly not working (Chapman, Milera etc.), I am to sure you have too many other options.

Sheil played the first game, and it was a side strain so, it sounds like he'll be back. I honestly would rather stay where he is, and Caldwell move in the middle - but I'll keep a watch on training reports and see what it's looking like. Also, to be honest, I think he should push Sheil out, or at least lessen his mid time, but Sheil is so limited there's not much else you can do with him - and he wasn't the worst against Geelong. Pretty low bar though.
Obviously Caldwell worry is his injury history, but if he can stay on the park he's got the game.

Not sure who I want to trade out of Berry and Ward.
Ward had 20 and a goal on the weekend just shocking efficiency. He might be a slow burner but he’s off field for me and I still trust that somewhere down the line he will have a spike game.
Berry has higher scoring potential than Ward but struggling with a shoulder?

Steele to Brayshaw allows Berry to Cripps. 32 Trades remain.
Early days but it appears Brayshaw and Cripps can both step up to the 115+ for the year. Keeper Level?

Really struggling with what to do this week.
I'm really tempted by the below;
Gawn - Jackson
Gov - Xerri
Ward - Cripps
I really wanted to go Owens to Cripps but I'm short by $1k.
I feel like the flexibility of running Jackson, Xerri, Hayes will be beneficial once Xerri gets DPP. Will allow me to move Jackson fwd and hopefully get Gawn/ Darcy back by round 6-10.
My other option if I don't go Cripps is to get Tom Green in.
I think I'd like to keep Ward even though he's been underwhelming - but he seems to have secured a spot in the hawks side which is important in this COVID year. I also think he's got some upside. Managed to get a lot of the footy on the weekend but disposal let him down. Think he can pump out the odd 70-85 to really help his cash gen.
If I don't get Owens out this week I can see a need to swap him next week for another rookie on rise.
I'm comfortable using 3 trades this week, but ideally don't want to use any more correctional after this week. Which makes the move to get rid of Ward over Owens a little less appealing.

PREMIERSHIP players Jake Lever and Michael Hibberd are a chance to return to Melbourne's frugal backline for its clash with Essendon at the MCG next Friday night.
The makeshift Demons defence was outstanding in their win over Gold Coast on Saturday night, restricting the Suns to 10 goals from 60 inside 50s, and it could get even better for the premiers in the not-too-distant future.
Following the victory, coach Simon Goodwin said Lever (foot) and Hibberd (calf) would be assessed during the week after almost returning against the Suns.
"We'll look at Hibbo and Jake to see where they are at but I'm really happy with the group we've got going at the moment," Goodwin said.
"They are playing well and have good cohesion together … they absorbed a lot of pressure really well."
Christian Salem and Harrison Petty are still missing longer term, but Trent Rivers made a successful return from injury, while Jake Bowey continued the incredible start to his career.
Bowey finished with 34 disposals, including a match-high 16 intercepts.
"He's a much-improved player," Goodwin said.
"He's played in nine games for nine wins, so he's pretty lucky.
"He played an outstanding game last week, but it was more defensive, and he didn't get rewarded with ball in hand, and tonight he played exactly the same game and got some reward with the ball.
"He's going to keep improving, he's still a young player with a lot to learn, but he was great tonight."
Comment from Goodwin's presser on the weekend. Interesting to note he played exactly the same game and got some reward with the ball.
Interesting to see if Hibberd and Lever has any effect on his ball winning ability. Think they may effect his intercept work but don't think they'd effect the chip mark part of the game.
Think I may seriously look at McGovern to Bowey with some DPP swings instead of McGovern to Jackson or may just end up holding McGovern.

I have never started with Gawn and always got stung. This year I ignored all the pre-season warnings and started Gawn and got bitten.
Only saving grace is that other options like Darcy and Marshall have also flopped. Looking in the rear vision mirror the smart play was probably an English/Witts type.
He just doesn't seem right. Seen enough and other viable possibilities have emerged.
