Im sure I will go back and forth alot this week but currently thinking -

Gawn, Whit and Chapman - Jackson, Hall, Hewett
or
Gawn, Whit, Berry - Jackson, Brayshaw Hewett

Could just also go Gawn, Berry, Chapman to Cripps, jackson and hewett which seems a bit meh and will cut cash gen down in long run

You'll be getting Cripps and Hewett in as keepers so I wouldn't worry about their long term cash gen.

@Deeman1 and anyone else for that matter, what are your thoughts on the Gawn situation? I have been able to watch enough of the games to analyse things.
I think that some of the concerns people had pre-season regarding Jackson have come to frution. Jackson is the future so needs to be developed (and rightly so), but unfortunatley that is going to have a negative impact on Gawn.

I did not see the game against GC, but saw most of the game against the WB and from comments I have seen, I'm not sure it is just the impact Jackson is have that is hurting Gawn SC wise. Gawn seems to be a bit off the pace, dropping marks that se should take etc, so that is hurting his scoring too.

I love him as a player and leader at the FC and I also think he has developed into a much better player and leader and part of that is to play a role in developing younger players and unfortunately that hurts him SC wise, even though it is great for the club.

I think I'm in the trade out club, but not because I don't think he will be a tip 2-3 ruck, but I think at this stage I think you can get similar scoring for $200-$300 less. I think he will still have enough monster scores to out him in the 110-115 range, but not sure that is enough to justify the $660k starting price.

After sleeping on my options my thoughts have switched to Rookies and cash generation. I am going to hold Gawn and am 50/50 about trading out Whitfield/Ward/Berry.

Xerri, Ginnivan are the 2 rookies I dont have, and not having either of Hewett or Bowey is a concern.

At this stage Durdin to Xerri looks a certainty, Ward to Ginnivan via Rachele is a decent possibility and then Whitfield to Hewett (over Bowey) looms as the last change. This would leave about $260k in the kitty for upgrades come week 6 or 7. Certainly the most difficult week 3 I can remember!

I'd go Hewett and Cripps, much more chance they'll end up keepers, the other two you'll need to upgrade at some stage.
Thanks, yeah I wouldn't be getting Caldwell & Bowey as keepers - more for the 150k+ cash they could make.

I am leaning more towards Hewett & Cripps too though.

Someone talk me out of trading Gawn and fielding Hayes/Dixon for a month until Xerri gets DPP.
I'm looking at it too, so here goes my worst case take on it...

Ryder is listed as available so let's assume he comes in next week. They run with all 3 rucks for a few weeks (Hayes as a perma-forward scoring 40s) before dropping Hayes.

Meanwhile Dixon chugs along and provides a contest, 40-60 type scores until Allen is back. Probably just in time at R6 or 7.

Good chance there is a R6 donut brewing here (unless you have English already) so if you were going all out on this play I'd bank an extra trade to bring in perhaps Preuss to shore things up.

On the other hand, Hayes could kick bags against the Hawks and Suns in R4 and R5, average 80 and book himself enough games to hold on field until R7.

'Emotional' corrective trades once SC opened last night...

Whitfield, McGovern & Berry > Short, Cripps & Heeney
*Using cash from Gawn > Witts trade last round

Let's see how my emotions plays out during the week but it's a solid corrective set nevertheless based on what has transpired over the first 2 rounds. The only deterrent/consideration for me is what kind of 'value' am I buying into as I've missed their 'hot' starts...?

Looking at 2 trade thoughts for this week.
1. Berry -> Bowey
A simple trade, though it has a bit of sideways about it.

2. Steele + Berry -> Cripps + Heeney/Hewett
Feels wrong to trade Steele after a 111 game, but he's going to drop in price and be a potential bye rd pickup.
Cripps of old looks to be back and Heeney/Hewett could be keepers (if Heeney stays injury free)
