Not sure who I want to trade out of Berry and Ward.

Ward had 20 and a goal on the weekend just shocking efficiency. He might be a slow burner but he’s off field for me and I still trust that somewhere down the line he will have a spike game.

Berry has higher scoring potential than Ward but struggling with a shoulder?
Keeping both at this stage

I'm looking at it too, so here goes my worst case take on it...

Ryder is listed as available so let's assume he comes in next week. They run with all 3 rucks for a few weeks (Hayes as a perma-forward scoring 40s) before dropping Hayes.

Meanwhile Dixon chugs along and provides a contest, 40-60 type scores until Allen is back. Probably just in time at R6 or 7.

Good chance there is a R6 donut brewing here (unless you have English already) so if you were going all out on this play I'd bank an extra trade to bring in perhaps Preuss to shore things up.
On the other hand, Hayes could kick bags against the Hawks and Suns in R4 and R5, average 80 and book himself enough games to hold on field until R7.
I think worst case is a donut Round 5. Ryder could be back this week (more likely next week), takes the main ruck and Hayes is a permanent forward with Marshall as you suggest. If Ryder this week then could be round 5 donut, 6 as you say if Ryder delayed.

Yet this week West Coast gains JJK back forward and Nic Nat in the ruck. There would be a chance that Dixon doesn't play within one week. Eagles have a number of the small forwards playing again (Ryan, Petraculle, Rioli) plus the resting mids like O'Neill, as they gain back some mids as well.

So you are really going in with just Hayes for the next 4 weeks. The positive is that Preuss if he plays will be on the bubble round 5.

We saw last year how quickly everything changed between round 1 and round 4 which had been likely, just the players came back from injury quicker than we thought. Darling was meant to be out for 4 weeks which is why Dixon is in my side and not Martin.

Thoughts on:
Whitfield, Berry, Marshall to Hewett, Cripps, Heeney

Means I roll with Grundy and Hayes/Dixon for a few weeks
Thinking simular to you re Marshall as I have English, Hayes and Dixon who can play ruck along with Grundy.

Sheil played the first game, and it was a side strain so, it sounds like he'll be back. I honestly would rather stay where he is, and Caldwell move in the middle - but I'll keep a watch on training reports and see what it's looking like. Also, to be honest, I think he should push Sheil out, or at least lessen his mid time, but Sheil is so limited there's not much else you can do with him - and he wasn't the worst against Geelong. Pretty low bar though.

Obviously Caldwell worry is his injury history, but if he can stay on the park he's got the game.
Completely agree with you but I'm not sure the coaching panel does. They seem to prefer stacking the midfield with one way runners who don't want to get their hands dirty. Anyone looking at Caldwell should just assume Shiel takes Merretts spot and Caldwell plays the same role he did last round. He's got so much class that he can still score well, but I wouldn't be expecting much more mid time unless Shiel is out longer. It took us years to realise Parish was a midfielder, who knows how long it will take for Caldwell.

Looking at 2 trade thoughts for this week.
1. Berry -> Bowey
A simple trade, though it has a bit of sideways about it.

2. Steele + Berry -> Cripps + Heeney/Hewett
Feels wrong to trade Steele after a 111 game, but he's going to drop in price and be a potential bye rd pickup.
Cripps of old looks to be back and Heeney/Hewett could be keepers (if Heeney stays injury free)
Trade Assist has the same idea. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Trading in Heeney? Maybe a trap?

First 6 rds last two years.

2021 115, 102 and then 82,44, 54, 19
2020 152, 60 and then 123, 64, 79, 86[/QUOTE

Will not kick 4 goals every week.? if i remember correctly i bought him in 2021 and got the 44 54, then the rage trade out.

Lost 8 thousands places in those 2 weeks and ruined my season. Its why i am also skeptical on Cripps. been burned by both the last 2 years.

But Gezzz CRIPPS looks good.

Any thoughts on Marshall out for Nic Martin, Berry out for Brayshaw with $100,000 change?
Swing English into ruck and play Hayes or Martin at F6.

I'm going to throw some ideas around:

A
1. Gawn > Jackson
2. Whitfield > Hewett
3. Long > Ginnivan
(237k in bank)

B.
1. Gawn > Jackson
2. SKD > Hewitt (ie. Keeping Whitfield.)
(59k in bank)

I need to change up my game this year - be a little less conservative. Went from 35k overall into top 6k this week. May as well go for the green while there's any sort of chance.

Current thinking is as follows:

Gawn is a problem, however the Ruck line is fraught with peril and none of the options thrill me, so I'm going to keep Gawn (for now) and hope he comes good

Steele => Cripps
(Steele makes me feel :sick: and is about to drop $45k - same as Gawn, so he's gone)
This frees up about $240k and hopefully give me more points on field

Whitfield => Hewett
(Whitfield is also :sick: and this trade releases $100k and should increase points on field)

Owens => Hall (via DPP)
(This will put Gibcus on the Bench and put the top scoring Defender on field)
