I'm going to throw some ideas around:

A
1. Gawn > Jackson
2. Whitfield > Hewett
3. Long > Ginnivan
(237k in bank)

B.
1. Gawn > Jackson
2. SKD > Hewitt (ie. Keeping Whitfield.)
(59k in bank)
I'm not sure getting the minivan in is a wise move. Yes, he punched out a 100 on the weekend, but he's generally going to top out at 65 per week.

What options does Whitfield to Hewett give? Are you missing any rookies or other mid pricers?

Option 1. Aggressive Trade Plan

Whitfield to Hewett
Ward to Martin (would love to get Gibcus down to someone rather than ward but this plan only leaves me with 119k and there are slim pickings!)
McGovern to Heeney
Hold Berry vs North at home

Option 2. Conservative trade plan

Berry to Martin via DPP
McGovern to Heeney

Could a crazy COVID crisis cause complications? Certainly!

Current thinking is a s follows:

Gawn is a problem, however the Ruck line is fraught with peril and none of the options thrill me, so I'm going to keep Gawn (for now) and hope he comes good

Steele => Cripps
(Steele makes me feel  and is about to drop $45k - same as Gawn, so he's gone)
This frees up about $240k and hopefully give me more points on field

Whitfield => Hewett
(Whitfield is also  and this trade releases $100k and should increase points on field)

Owens => Hall (via DPP)
(This will put Gibcus on the Bench and put the top scoring Defender on field)
Look good - if you think Cripps will last the season in good nick and Hewett will average closer to 100 than 90 for the year, given you're misding his first two big scores

These are solid restructure trades i think provided you back cripps to be a keeper - essentially cripps/hall for steele/whit and you get a high scoring player for your troubles in hewett who at worst makes you more money than owens and at best is a keeper. looks good to me RB!

Not really missing any must haves that I can work out - I think Minivan was just pushing pieces around and would make things more complicated than needed. Don't think Whitfield to Hewett as a straight trade offers much - only just over 100k.

I'm more concerned about how much Gawn is going to drop in cash with 200 BE.

“AFL.com.au understands the All-Australian has pulled up well from his return game and is expected to face the Tigers on Sunday if he has no other issues with his troublesome Achilles this week. “

“Ryder spent Monday morning completing a recovery session at RSEA Park, with the senior side landing back in Melbourne at 3am following a gutsy 10-point win over Fremantle at Optus Stadium on Sunday night.

St Kilda coach Brett Ratten and the match committee will spend time this week discussing what to do with pre-season supplemental selection period signing Jack Hayes.

The Woodville West-Torrens product starred on debut against Collingwood in round one and was played his role in Perth, finishing with 12 disposals, six hitouts and three clearances to support Rowan Marshall in the ruck against Sean Darcy and Lloyd Meek.

Hayes wasn’t expected to feature in the same side as Ryder and Marshall prior to his performance against the Magpies, but the Saints could still find a way to play all the three in the same 22.”

Seems Most are throwing out a Keeper for upgrades.?

I didnt start JFH or Rachele both highly owned. I Currently sit in the top 1000. Thinking i should get both, supercoach 101 get your rookies in order RD3.

Gov to Xerri
Berry to JFH? Concern on J.Berry Shoulder.
Baldwin to Rachele or Naish as a POD move.?

oR

Burn Steele for Brayshaw and CrippS and assume they are keepers.?

Steele - Brayshaw
Gov - Rachele
Berry - Cripps.

The go Durdin to Martin RD4 and just sit for a few weeks. 4 trades used.?

I need to change up my game this year - be a little less conservative. Went from 35k overall into top 6k this week. May as well go for the green while there's any sort of chance.
Yeah I'm glad someone else mentioned Ginnivan. And not a Pies fan either.

A few of my options leave me with a 3rd trade that could be Hough to Ginnivan. He's a warm body, has improved his tank markedly, is getting down to the D50 at times and isn't relying on his freakish goal scoring ability, having missed a few he should have gotten. His scores will be a lot closer to his round 1 score of 60 than his round 2 of 117 you'd think but could be a chance of gettin me 100-150k if he can get another decent score while that tonne is in the price. Has Geelong this week, then West Coast at Marvel

Aside from Cripps I'm not missing any important value picks/rookies. Xerri, Hewett, Martin, Hayes, JHF, Stephens etc are already there. I can use a couple of trades to get Cripps (already have 100k itb), or stick with the team I've got.

My best options for getting Cripps are:

1. Underperforming premo (Steele/Ridley) and Owens > Cripps and Bowey/similar player.
2. Berry and McGovern > Cripps and Skinner.

No need to use a third trade unless there's an unexpected out.

Not 100% sold on this one as much as dumping gawn.

Steele, Whit and Chapman > Cripps, Hewett, Hall

The thing is though that he didn't get a tonne off the back of a 5 goal performance. He got it off 21 possessions with 10 contested. Tells me that he was playing up the ground a lot more this time round and not just hanging out in starvation corner.

Edit: Considering the teamsheets, I wouldn't be surprised if he was given Bianco's role on the weekend. It would make sense. 21 stats and he's had only 3 shots on goal.

Do you need the money now? If not I struggle to find a scenario where trading Ridley makes more sense if you think they both go at 100. Whitfield highly likely to miss games and cost you another trade which has to be taken into account too.
And Whitfield set to drop over 26k this week alone….Whitfield gone for me out of the two

I get that the role is good but the Pies are not. St.Kilda then Adelaide away from home is probably the most cupcake opening two rounds of any team. Geelong and Brisbane away are 2 of the next three, which I'm not sure is going to be conducive for good scoring

Someone talk me out of trading Gawn and fielding Hayes/Dixon for a month until Xerri gets DPP.
I have had a look at this. The issue I have with this approach is the money. The natural thing to do is to spend the money on players. But it is a long way to find enough money to get a good ruck back in if Xerri does not work out and you will also have 4 weeks of Hayes scoring 70's. You would want to be sure that you have those points loss covered. But the team did look a lot better without him 🙂🤔
