The more I think of trades and the new boost tool I think coaches could get a decisive strategic move using 3 trades this week.
Suring up all rooks but also taking advantage of some players whom have blossomed in new roles. With 5 boosts available I certainly am an advocate for using one this week.
I traded Berry last week (shoulder issue was enough for me) after Cripps & Hewett dominated to free up money for them and avoid a boost this week.

I reckon that was the real decisive strategic move honestly - those boosts will be gold in upgrade season (y)

So you will use 3 trades over 2 rounds compared to those who will use 3 trades (including a boost this round) so doesn't that mean the same number of trades remaining ? 🤔

Yes same number of trades remining, but one additional boost
Correct , so essentially they are all trades , just a matter of when you choose to use 2 or 3 in a round or 3 or 4.

Use it now to fix your side or save it for Ron and upgrade time.

I wonder if one day they will let us buy extra trades/boosts.

Smart program , once you use your 3 trades for the round , the only 3 that show the little T button option are the 3 new players you traded in.

Just clicked on all 30 , 1 X 1 in case their was a loophole somewhere

Boosts have more value in upgrade time when they can be used to get rookies off field and bring in extra premiums.

Right now people are using boosts to shuffle their teams around - I don't really see much value in that when we are all still under the $10,000,000 salary cap and you're likely just moving to a position you could (or someone else did) start at (y)

Been a lot of vacillating for me over the best way to use my trades and $

Have enough ITB to get:

Berry > Cripps
McGovern > Heeney

I'm not super keen on Heeney but if I'm with the crowd it wont hurt as much if (when) he reverts to his mean.

Pretty keen on losing Whitfield to Bowey mainly from a cash management perspective as Whit could drop 50k over 3 rnds and Bowey could make 100k+. The cash left over would allow a straight swap next week of Lipinski > Petracca. A week or so later Bowey & Rowell could become Macrae.

Obviously a very fluid situation that will be influenced by scores and BE's but a fairly significant change to my team before upgrade season starts.
In a nutshell that's 6 trades

OUT:

Berry
McGovern
Whitfield
Lipinski
Bowey
Rowell

IN:

Cripps
Heeney
Petracca
Macrae
Bowey
Rookie on the bubble

Few mentions of Xerri as a must have. Without wanting to plant my flag as the antiXerri representative of the forum, I am very skeptical about that.

Would strongly advise people to do their own sums on whether he's worth a trade.

BE's at this stage of the season are relevant to the speed of cash gen, but don't ultimately affect how much cash he makes. It's what he scores from here that matters.

Obviously a great starting pick, and an easy target for those with an obvious dud who can be corrected in one trade.

Also he holds great appeal for a quick cash grab to possibly start upgrading a week early, if you have the spot for him.

But other than that I'm not sure.

For my team it would have to be Berry out. FWIW I still have Berry outscoring Xerri from here, and making only slightly less cash. YMMV.

EDITED to add that given price difference you don't need to think Xerri is that far ahead of Berry to make it worth the trade. 5-10 points probably gets you to the value of a trade, given cash gen and points gained combined.
Gov to Xerri.
Martin could be a good onfield option over Hynes this week.

Wouldn't be trading Berry.

Will death ride Crippaa.

Whitfield could also post 120 next two weeks and Bowey back to a bench role for 65 pts.

Chasing last week's points seldom works, only took me 3 years to accept.

Gawn > English
Berry > Cripps

Gives me this team with less than $10k ITB... View attachment 41955

I loathe to trade Gawn out but there's no way to generate cash without doing so.
The only must have rookie I am missing is Martin, who will come in next week.

After some thought, I will hold onto Ridley & Whitfield.
Pretty happy with all my lines bar defence.

I could go all the way down to Witts instead of English to generate more cash to sit on.
Any strong thoughts or views in these trades?[/QUOT

Oh I'm not chasing Bowey's points, he's already got them (much like a rookie on the bubble) I'm locking in his 150 for 2 or 3 weeks, maybe longer if he has another worthy score within that time frame, even at 65's he'll still make enough to be worth the trade especially if I use him to get both Petracca and Macrae into my team.

It's actually amazing how similar everyone's teams look when they show them in the trade thread (maybe 3-6 different at best) , I guess we all have the same bench rookies & value players.

Captains choices making a difference until upgrade season.

Now with the news that DPP additions have moved a round earlier might be time to use a boost and try and get a advantage somehow.

So are the DPP additions in rnd 6 now? Makes a bit of difference for me bringing in Bowey for 3 weeks as I'd have to field 1 of Skinner or De Koning for a week until I can move Daicos back.

*Edit....Further to this, I'd also have to find a Def rookie as well. Moving Daicos back and fielding 1 of Rachele/Stephens/Ward and bringing in a mid rookie (preferably on the bubble) would be much handier.

Still totally confused with this weeks trades. Had these locked in........

McGovern to Nic Martin. (can get another look at him this week and trade him in next week.)
Berry to Brayshaw. (loved his game last week.)

Looking at breakevens trades could be the way to go so now I'm thinking of biting the bullet and trading out Max.

Gawn 204 B/E to English 60 B/E
McGovern to Heeney -15 B/E
Berry to Clarry Jnr (Green) -19 B/E

Currently have 13 players with negative breakevens so may as well add another 2 and make it 15.

This is structure/correction week. Used to be get the best rookies week but feels like most already have. Remember prices haven't changed yet but they will next week!

I will be trading Berry to Cripps and either McGovern (if injured) to McDonald or Gawn to English.

Irritating I end up with the team I had the day before lockout, but it cost me 4 trades to get there...
