So are the DPP additions in rnd 6 now? Makes a bit of difference for me bringing in Bowey for 3 weeks as I'd have to field 1 of Skinner or De Koning for a week until I can move Daicos back
That's correct , confirmed in the DPP thread.

Daicos scores like he did last round he will be relegated to the bench very quickly.

This is structure/correction week. Used to be get the best rookies week but feels like most already have. Remember prices haven't changed yet but they will next week!

I will be trading Berry to Cripps and either McGovern (if injured) to McDonald or Gawn to English.

Irritating I end up with the team I had the day before lockout, but it cost me 4 trades to get there...
A lot of us in the same boat there.

Can't really see how I bring in the obvious Hewett, Cripps choices without sacrificing Steele, or bringing in Bowey, neither of which I'm keen on, so I'm thinking of just McGovern to Xerri and possibly Owens to MacDonald. Thoughts?

Edit: Really great comments here have made me reconsider keeping Steele and going: Steele to Cripps, McGovern to Xerri and Gibcus/De koning to Hewett. Gives me an extra (probable) premo in Hewett and counting on Cripps to score similarly to Steele from here.

*Edit....Further to this, I'd also have to find a Def rookie as well. Moving Daicos back and fielding 1 of Rachele/Stephens/Ward and bringing in a mid rookie (preferably on the bubble) would be much handier.
Be interesting to see what people do with Daicos & JHF.

Wouldn't think after 5 games Hinge & McCartin have made enough $ to go to a premium mid , same with guys like Brodie , Curnow , Xerri etc up forward.

Option of Xerri being R2.

Rachele , Stephens , Ward hopefully have more $ to make after 5 games as well , so maybe not downgrading them either.

Trade Bowey in for 3 games then try and get him to Oliver/Steele via Daicos in Round 6.

Perhaps a correction trade Whitfield to Hewitt and Gibcus to Bowey?
Or Ward to Mcdonald (haw) to do Gibsus to Bowey?
Or just leave as is . Good team.
Edit, just noticed McGovern , money available there.

McGovern > Durdin
Whitfield > Hewett
Berry > Cripps

Definitely not ideal missing Xerri and you probably should've traded Berry early last week when it became clear Cripps & Hewett were must-haves on Thursday, but those trades allow you to keep Steele & avoid Bowey.

Thanks, definitely something to consider, although I'm not certain about Durdin, while Xerri is very tempting. Does make me reconsider keeping Steele and going Steele to Cripps, McGovern to Xerri and De Koning/Gibcus to Hewett.

Cheers, I think Ward could come good and I'm not mad on Bowey; am considering the Whitfield trade though.

Yeah you could also trade Owens to Hewett instead of SDK/Gibcus (who should get games) via Rachele & SDK's DPP.

Are you happy to miss Rowell?

That's actually a far better move - I appreciate the advice. I think it's really a choice of 2 Cripps, Hewett and Rowell; Hewett being a defender has an advantage and Cripps has more runs on the board than Rowell.

Alternative option, but you will need to consider using a trade boost:
Ridley --> Hewett
McGovern --> Xerri
And that'll give you enough to do Berry --> Cripps

This also lets you keep Steele.

That's another great option - thank you!

I have a lot to consider over the next day or so. Really appreciate the help from this site and its members. Good luck all!

hello guys, i made three new trades, just want some feedback on my team overall
Note: Next round im planning to do maginness for xerri but i just want some more confidence on the xerri pick. If i dont like xerri then i can go mcgovern or rayner or gresham or willie rioli
I'm rewarding crisp with the good game he had last week
I have a ton of money so if cripps doesn't do well with a full carlton midfield, im planning to upgrade him to andy brayshaw
have passed up on heeney bcoz that means i trade gawn and idk who to trade him to
anyways here is my team

Great team with alot of value which should provide incredible scoring in the short term.

I just wonder if long term you’re missing out on some good cash generation from the likes of JHF, Rachele, MacDonald etc. though and whether they should be prioritised over missed value premiums in Hewett/Heeney.
Thanks mate, you are on the money. I didn't start JHF b/c he was going to play forward, a couple of injuries have gifted him a spot in the mids, I think it's been lucky for the majority honestly. I stubbornly won't be joining, but am giving it consideration. Rachele, again lucky to be gaining mid rotation, I didn't a/c for that preseason. Macdonald, JS is sketchy. It's not a ride I need. Durdin no for the same reason as Rachele. Gibcus, yeah nah, prolly too slow as well. Don't get me wrong, they're find SC picks...I just viewed that players like Mcgovern, curnow, Xerri provided a better risk return and players like lipinski et al a better return going forward. It's going to be fun.

One of the more balanced 'value' based team I've seen to date with Daicos as the sole on-field rookie. There's a realistic chance that 4 or 5 upgrades gets you to a completed team, maybe as soon as R10. Then you the MBRs to improve on your best 22. I like it, like it a lot!
Good to see something different though you seem to have somehow caught all the early bolters! Hough/Dixon to Martin next round and you're pretty set for the ride, put it on cruise control for a few rounds.
I would be more than happy if given that as a platform to build on, I can see a lot of fun to be had with that team. I'll be keen to see where you land come the MBRs, great job.
I've traded hard to catch a lot of them...it's not all skill :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

The more I look at it, the more I’m tempted to hold fire.

Started Cripps, Hewett, English, Xerri
Didn’t start McGovern
Gawn and Berry becoming less owned.

I’m relatively light in midfield (Rowell is my M4) so that’s my only concern.
Hmmm Berry becomes POD I like it.
