Get the rookies in..
I have (included some of the 200k non-rookies)
Hinge, Gibcus, SDK
JHF, Daicos, Rachele, Ward, Stephens, Owens
Dixon
Brodie, Xerri, Durdin, Hayes

So it seems I’m only missing Martin of the cheap but high potentials, but he’s not on the bubble til next week.

I have 185k in the bank, so could go Durdin to Ginivan/Naish/one of the higher scoring R2 rookies in order to bank some growth.

This is structure/correction week. Used to be get the best rookies week but feels like most already have. Remember prices haven't changed yet but they will next week!

I will be trading Berry to Cripps and either McGovern (if injured) to McDonald or Gawn to English.

Irritating I end up with the team I had the day before lockout, but it cost me 4 trades to get there...
Its okay - you've still got one more trade than last year for the season!

Big week for everyone I say.
So this is where I'm at.
Gawn to Jackson
Berry to Heeney
McGovern to Bowey.
Significant price increases gained.
Other than that .
Hold Gawn
No Heeney
But could go McGovern to Bowey or hold him.
Tough decisions.

Another option is SDK to Bowey, burns a lot of my bank…

Got all of those as well aside from Dixon. How about McCartin.

MacDonald? Caldwell? Bowey?

It would be rare to find someone that has EVERY cash cow (y)

Opening it up to the masses.

I currently don't have Cripps, Rowell, Hewett, Xerri or Hinge.
And I only have $20k in my bank.

On the chopping block realistically is Gov and Chapman.
Do I need one or two of Cripps, Rowell, Hewett or Green? Or should I focus on Gov - Xerri, Wilmot - Hinge?

The only way I get any of the early season bolters is either:

Gawn down to English/ Jackson. (Not interested in Witts/ other options as he'll be out of my team eventually)

OR

Steele - Cripps, then Gov -Xerri and Chapman - Luke Ryan or Wilmot - Hewett

Option 1

Whits > Hewett and Chapman to Bowey

Option 2

Gawn > Heeney and Whits > Hewett and Chapman > Hall or Bowey Hayes R2 (requires Preuss to be named, would not trade in yet). Xerri in fwds for round 6.

Conservative vs Aggressive Question is if going option 2, do you bring in Hall who has BE 83 vs Bowey and hold the cash.

To get Heeney/Hewett in it means to trade out Whitfield/McGov/Berry and still have Chapman and go early with Martin.

@stephen @randomcliche et al...

Went over my trade plans with the boss and she has given the green light and approval for the following:

OUTs: Berry, McGovern & Owens
INs: Cripps, Hewett & Rachele

She's a 'boring' but much more sensible and smarter cookie than I am, I'm in good hands. Thanks again guys...:)

Rather than English, have you considered Lloyd Meek? I recognise that he'll be out of your team again also, but it may free up enough cash for you to get in two of Cripps, Rowell, Hewett or Green.

Meek is tough. Preseason they said Darcy can ruck 80% and Lobb will back up. Taberner is likely back which removes the key forward they need to add.

Darcy played mostly forward last week, he may miss this week, yet following week Meek could be out.

Have strongly considered him, yet Tabs back was the swing factor.

I think Meek causes more problems.
I can get Cripps or Hewett in with a move to Jackson.
However, my must have is Xerri. So dumping Gawn means I'm getting a potential top 10-15 FWD in English or Jackson, Xerri as cash cow and then either Hewett or Cripps.

If I go Steele to Cripps, I can still bring in Hewett as well as Xerri.

I think Meek is only an option with Darcy out, he was solo rucking in week 1 and was the primary ruck last week with Darcy being eased back and then off the ground. He seemed like a good option if Darcy had a more serious ankle injury. If Darcy comes back and starts to do most of the rucking he'll either be scoring a lot less or out of the side.

After much deliberation ...

Out: Darcy, Soligo & Durdin
In: Meek, Stephens & Treloar

Going to blow my first trade boost and perhaps I really don't need to considering the third trade is trading out Durdin (playing rookie with decent JS) for a bloke with an injury history like Treloar.

Negatives: Treloar's injury history & my other 3 premo forwards being Dunks, Butters & Coniglio. All injury risks. Also, blowing a trade boost early. Also trading a playing rookie.

Positives: Treloar's upcoming opponent run (Swans - tough, Tigers - moderate, North - Easy, Crows - Easy/Mod, Dons - Easy). Also, gets a rookie off the field & I can't stuff up rookie roulette on forward. Another positive is getting rid of a small forward whose scoring potential is likely to fluctuate. Also, trading straight down to a premo forward saves another trade further down the track (until Treloar gets injured again )

Gives Meek a chance to rise in price while I get a look at Darcy till he comes good. In saying that, he's the type of sod to come out and put up 150 this week going half pace to make me look sillier than I already am.

He job shared with Darcy last week, and attended far more CBs, as Freo were happy to run Lobb up forward with Darcy to keep him company. He more than held his own IMO. Treacy out & Darcy sore has me believing there's a spot for him for the next month with decent TOG.

Need some feedback as I am finding myself going around in circles. Ridley, Steele and Whitfield all concerns though keeping Steele and Ridley and hoping they come good. If Cripps was not available and killing I would be keeping all three of them or considering upgrade to Hall for Ridley/Whitfield. Would love to do Hall, Cripps, rookie but not enough cash.

Feel Cripps is a must have to be competitive.
options considered
1. Whitfield, Berry, McGov > O'Driscoll/Skinner, Cripps and Brodie 292K ITB
2. Whitfield Berry McGov > O'Driscoll/Skinner, Cripps, Heeney 62k ITB

Heeney named at FF is concerning. Expect him to avg 100-105 for rest of year Though I dont see him as a must have.
Brodie is guaranteed the inside mid role until round 7-8 with Fyfe situation and will generate 200k + so he is great value for money in points and cash.

My defence will be thin. though this year there are a lot of options that I can target for upgrades dont really see any of them unreachable. I started with Hewitt. O'Driscoll will provide DPP link to mids and I think he is possible to get enough games to make cash by the byes. There are no good DEF rooks anyway. Means keeping Hough and Owens this week which is fine as I can loop Stephens, Ward, and see what rookies are coming down the track.

JHF is missing and would be option v Brodie but not a must have.

I have two options I'm looking at this week

1. McGovern to Martin
Berry to Cripps
2. Gawn to English
Berry to Cripps
McGovern to Bowie (don't have to include this but Bowie will make cash quicker)

Team is below... appreciate any thoughts.
