Was thinking:
OUT: Grundy, Berry, Rowell
IN: Petracca Preuss, Lloyd
Miss out on Rosas (will cost an extra 50k odd next week) am sidewaysing Grundy which im not keen on.

Now thinking
OUT: Berry, Rowell, Macdonald
IN: Clarry/Petracca, Rosas, Preuss (English shifted to fwd line) more of a cash gen move and no sidewaysing a premium (grundy)
Thoughts cheers.

Option 2 is definitely the way to go IMO. Essendon has been pitiful this season and I expect Grundy to bounce back. Lloyd looks as though he has further cash to shed too. You're getting Rosas at his base price too.

Not sure what to do this week.

Think my biggest issue I want to address is having to play Gibcus/McCartin/De Koning at D6 when I have better rookies on the bench on other lines. If I can somehow manufacture something to swing Daicos into defense, would be much better balanced.

Thinking Rowell and JHF probably the ones that need to go, appear to be the weakest links at this stage.

Rowell > Preuss (via Martin to mids and Dixon to FWD)
JHF > Rosas

These would be preferred trades I think, but don't help my defense.

Can anyone see a way I can swing this to get Daicos in the backline?
Easy in desktop version, choose a player to trade out and then sub, sub, sub, sub. Daicos def, SDK forward, Brodie mid.
Need some opinions on Blivcas

As cats R2/R1 he scores well

Two low scores...(where key defenders missing those weeks)??

At 450k odd he has my interest a lot

Ultra fit
Doesn't miss games
Well, it's definitely a POD move, but probably not one that would work too well for the reasons that you mentioned, does he get used as a lockdown defender when needed? I don't know how your backline is situated, but you're highly ranked and I'd personally be looking at quality inclusions.

*Edit.....of course I'm not highly ranked, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
Hmmm I didn’t realize he’d been R1 at all…tell me some more!

Best keeper, any line for $562,600 or cheaper?
Dawson def with Sloan dog news. Bazlenka mids. Sicily and Sinclair. But def is so wide open atm…

I already have:
  • Macrae
  • English
  • Dunkley

Three players from 1 team is my limit
I’m going to push 6 come rnd 12!
already got eng, dunk, Treloar, welcome smith and Macrae now…

Any Dogs supporters got some inside knowledge on who is likely to take Hunter's wing time in his absence?

Does one of their mids move out to fill that role or will someone from the VFL come in to take over?

Was $300 short of Crisp over Lloyd. Might have tipped the scales to option 1.

Might focus on premium mids instead of replacing Hall in defense as Daicos can do that for a while....

OUT: Hall, Rowell, JHF
IN: Steele, Preuss, Rosas

$386k in bank to go Rachele to Oliver next week

Would mean mid premiums at round 7 are:

Macrae, Neale, Touk, Steele, Oliver, Cripps

It definitely feels like getting premium mids in ASAP will give you a leg up because so many of the midprice backs and forwards are doing ok enough to keep the lines afloat.

It's an amazing team value, so congratulations on that. It's possibly the highest in all of SC so far this season.
The glaringly obvious problem is that your bench is over funded. $2,203,500 sitting on your bench, that produced 503 points + a DNP. No real loop options either. It's time to get picky, and start thinning the heard. While it's been great for your cash gen, having so many (9?) players that started in that high $200's to low $400's price range, it means the real value points/dollars players have been forced to your bench. It also means you are probably 1 or 2 genuine Prems down on where you should be. Let's do a simple exercise, and multiply some of those low Midpriced players by averages by $5,000, and you get an idea of if they are still producing value for money in your team.

Of those, the most immediate one that needs cropping would appear to be Blakey, but I'd be keeping a close eye on the others.
Blakey out, Daicos up. It get's Daicos on the ground, who is outscoring Blakey anyway, and frees up $384,900.
I think you need to continue that sort of process, and get rid of the Midpricers, that aren't scoring at good Keeper level, and have seemingly maxed out their value, or nearly maxed it out.
Firstly thanks to @Herbie66, @randomcliche & @Rowsus for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
I must say Rowsus that your comments have had me thinking hard in a different direction.

Your observation that I had perhaps too much value on the bench makes sense & on reflection is rammed home by the outcome last week.
In the Round 4 Review thread I commented " another embarrassment - if you exclude the injured Hinge, my bench players averaged 97 this week whilst my on-field 22 managed to average 84 - absurd! "

So I was almost ready to accept the idea of Blakey -> Rosas so I could swing Daicos into defence.
But then the eternal what-ifs popped into my head.
Blakey is $384K and Daicos is up to $354K - not too much difference really.
My current thinking is to do something I hadn't previously considered - still free up bench cash but do this by trading out Daicos to Rosas.
Daicos looks to be a future star & has DPP but I'm backing the more mature & experienced Blakey to outscore him from here on.
Thoughts on this approach? Am I missing something?

Daicos is averaging more than Blakey.

Daicos still has bucket loads of cash to make.

Daicos has DPP which is a further advantage when doing trades.

Can't see the point in that trade personally.

Would be trying to get Blakey up to a premium at the appropriate time.

Can't you get Blakey to a Miller , Oliver , Parish, Steele , Walsh type via Daicos by including a downgrade ?

Not sure I understand this thinking if you're comfortable fielding 2 of Hinge, NOD, McCartin and SDK who are all averaging less than both Martin and Hayes?
Currently running with 9 midpricers & 2 onfield rookies

Preuss 105.5
Brodie 99.2 - hopefully a keeper
Coniglio 97.6 - hopefully a keeper
Gresham 97 - hopefully a keeper
Rioli , D - 90.8
Xerri - 85.8
Blakey - 83
Berry - 79.6
Curnow - 77.4

Daicos - 87.6
Martin , N - 86.3

= 8 upgrades required (minimum)

Hopefully they all keep performing and rising in $

Bench is :-

McCartin , SDK *
JHF , Rachele * , Stephens
Dixon *
Hayes , J * , Rosas

Realistically probably only going to get 5 downgrades (hopefully a defender rookie shows up , where is Gould or McLennan)

$ 367,100.00 in the Bank , might need to milk my bench rookies as much as possible

Oliver the target for Round 7 , will see if S Hayes & Hobbs back-up their scores
Possibly (over) ambitious but might try and get S Hayes , Oliver & Walsh into my team for Round 7

Hold up, if you can see his team why are you saying he must have a very strong fwd line and midfield line? You can see for yourself :p

But yeah, for my money Rowell out for Rosas. Could always play Ward onfield if not confident on Martin :sneaky:
are both positions very weak?
