With Strnadica out this week it creates an even bigger bottle neck for next week with rookies on the bubble.

Clark, Strnadica, Carroll, Hamilton, Begg, Rioli all on the bubble next week having had decent first games.

Clark, Strnadica, Rioli, Carroll all at this stage look to be better options than McComb and Curtis this week, so we may have no choice but to go early on one of the one gamers this week to leave options open for next week.
Frustratingly none are Defenders, so at least a couple of fattening rookies will languish on the DEF bench while we wait for some to turn up.

I don’t think we need to give too much thought to picking Clark early. If he stays fit he’s best 22 for the rest of the year. Eagles are cooked, he is the future, plus he looks pretty competent at afl level.

If you want to go early on someone it’s him for mine
You would hate to have him enter protocols and not make any coin though.

I only have De Koning and Skinner on my def. bench, need to get 2 premium defenders this week and next so Noddy was upgraded this week and Daicos will be upgraded next week.

English another week away. Biggest mistake of the year by myself has not been trading him. My original thought was Jack Hayes is solid cover but the thought process was highly flawed in retrospect
He was worth holding if it was a week later, but upgrade season technically hadn't started yet - so it was basically a free hit to sideways him and not fall behind the pack.

I wanted to get rid of Ridley that week otherwise would have traded him, on paper it was Ridley vs Jack Hayes with the trade for 3 weeks

Upgrading the same 2 over the next 2 weeks as well.
Leaves me with Hinge & Gibcus on the bench. Almost tempted to bring in Skinner at some point and have a link with SDK who's sitting FWD atm.

Swans set to welcome back important trio for Suns clash

Paddy McCartin and Tom Hickey are among three key players set to be available for the game against Gold Coast

SYDNEY trio Tom Hickey, Paddy McCartin and Logan McDonald are all in the frame to make their AFL return from injury.

Ruckman Hickey hasn't featured since hurting a knee in round three but the Swans are bullish about his availability for Saturday's game against Gold Coast.

McCartin and McDonald are both tipped to return after missing last weekend's loss to Brisbane because of concussion protocols.

"Paddy and Logan are absolutely right in that (selection) frame," Swans coach John Longmire told reporters on Tuesday.

"They trained today, we expect them to train again on Thursday and be available."

Hickey, who suffered a strain to a medial ligament in a knee, has been in full training since late last week.

"He is a strong chance as well," Longmire said.

"Whilst he is not quite over the line, he has done everything and more that has been asked of him.

"So we wouldn't be surprised if come Thursday he is available."

Utility Harry Cunningham, who has an abdominal strain after the 24-point loss to the Lions, remains in doubt for a Swans outfit buoyed by the re-signing of young gun Justin McInerney.
