Current team :-

Intended trades :-

Martin (round 12 bye/ high BE) /Dixon/Stephens > Buku (McCartin moves fwd)/Witts/Clark.

I want to hold McCartin & SDK with their low BEs & high JS - both being DP also adds to the appeal in pairing them up for coverage during the byes. After trades, this gives me 21 players for the first of the byes in round 12 & gets rid of any deadwood.

Team would look like this :-

Plan in the future is D Cameron > English, will trade S Hayes out when maxed to J Williams (117K ruck/fwd WCE - late games so perfect capt loophole) to pair with English.

Walsh after his bye a real possibility, would like Brayshaw after his bye but will see how things are then/ depends on B Smith being a fwd.

Thoughts/comments appreciated (y)

Thinking
N Martin and ward > Clark and laird and 80k. Opens up fwd and def dpp with mcartin fwd and Nod to loop Whitfield in def.

Or go with sdk and ward. Only end up with 8k left but keeps Martin on field over a macartin

Leaning towards Martin and Daicos to Laird and Dusty which leaves me 130k in bank and this team. Unfortunately am unable to loop Clark and Cogs this week

i have a dilemma too
last week scored 2285, good for top 4%
nearly in top 20k in ranks, climbed up 14k in last 2 weeks
steele and cogs rlly hurt my team on-field, rioli and carroll hurt me on the bench
ive contemplated getting two mids but given my bye situation, cant get 2 of mills, laird, baz, bont and keays
right now my trades are cogs, hinge and steele > laird, brayshaw and greg clark
my problems: im not sure who i should trade out of cogs and nic martin, cogs does play the weagles and north but his BE is 146, role is terrible. Martin has looked to be close to hitting the rookie wall, BE is getting close to being must trade out territory as he doesn't have that high ceiling. If i trade martin instead of cogs, will have to keep hinge instead of daicos or bring in trac instead of laird which is far from ideal
second problem
hinge vs daicos. now ive asked this a few times so im sorry to you guys but im really stuck on what to do. Daicos BE is 75 while Hinges BE is 50 so Hinge has the edge there. Byes wise there is no issue. Daicos has the DPP advantage. So really, the question is this, who is more reliable (which i think is Daicos), is Hinge close to getting dropped, who has the most money to make coz none of them will be keepers
would appreciate some feedback and thoughts

interesting that people are holding Cogs over Martin, I know a new coach could change things but he got more mid time last week and looked worse. I’m happy to say well done Cogs and move on, Eagles haven’t been as easy of a mid match up of late as you’d think.
That's very interesting - I didn't get to see the game yesterday, I just assumed he was parked fwd most of the game by Leon.

As an Essendon man, I assume you watched Martin's game v swans at the SCG on the weekend, do you think the SCG being a far smaller ground really hurt him/ a reason why his score was lower than normal as couldn't find the space he normally would?

Both have the round 12 bye, I need to offload 1 of them - maybe Cogs is the better option to move on/ much higher BE also.

I think Martin just suffered from us going so poorly as a team, he’s an outside player and will struggle more when we’re getting dominated. To be honest I couldn’t keep watching the game because we were going so bad but that’s what it looked like to me. He has to go soon, my point is more just that Cogs is unlikely to come good.

Cogs didn’t get big mid minutes, just 7 CBA’s compared to the usual 0-2 but he looked totally off and was fumbling it and turning it over. A new coach could mix things up and put him back in the middle more but I think there’s too much evidence of him not being an elite player across the past two seasons to fully expect him to turn it around and be a keeper. He certainly could, whereas Martin won’t, but for those with enough trades moving him now seems far far safer.

I think both have to go so for me it’s just a case of trading out the bigger breakeven first

Fwiw I might trade Martin to Bailey Smith next week if it becomes quite obvious Smith will get dpp the week after

Also think the small ground doesn't help an outside player like Martin.

Dixon > Clark; Steele> ? ; two boosts left. Unsure if I will use. Have a few problems to address, but Steele makes it harder.
