And it took a Steele injury for anyone to take notice!
Don’t think people have looked at Laird this season because he lost his dual position status
You're both being a bit harsh. He missed the first 2 games so was never a starting pick. Then hasn't dropped price at all while the likes of Oliver, Steele, Miller, Macrae etc. have all been good value at some stage this season. Can't be blaming coaches for choosing those guys at good value over Laird at no discount.

The Connoisseur what is your reasoning turfing Martin over Coniglio
Cogs BE 146
Martin BE 86

Cogs not getting CBAs & looks very ordinary in general.

Martin played on the small SCG on the weekend, outside players can struggle there - has the wide expanses of the MCG this week.

With both having the round 12 bye, I think most need to offload one. Martin appears to have a much better role, McVeigh coming in might change things for Cogs but we don’t know yet.

I've got spot fires all over the place (Whitfield, Rowell, Coniglio) the main problems. And have some real round 12 bye problems, so this is what I am looking at

Out: NMartin, Coniglio, SHayes
In: Clark, Goldstein, DCameron

I know Xerri is a threat to Goldstein, but the round 14 FWD pool is pretty shallow...

Will be my final boost:

Will leave:

Sicily, Short, Whitfield, Ridley, Rich, McCartin (Hinge, SDK)
Macrae, Jelly, Neale, Cripps, Rowell, Green, JDG, Oliver (McComb, Clark, Ward)
Gawn, Preuss (Dixon)
Dunkley, Heeney, Parker, Brodie, Goldstein, Cameron (Rioli, Benning)

Not ideal, but will have to do...
I’d line up Lipinski if looking for a round 14 forward. Goldie could go brown steamy fast

Team before trades

Ridley, Short, Whitfield, Rich, Sicily, McCartin (Hinge, SDK)
Macrae, Neale, Oliver, Jelly, Rowell Green, JDG, Cripps (Rioli, Ward, McComb)
Gawn, Preuss (SHayes)
Dunkley Heeney, Brodie, Coniglio, Parker NMartun (Dixon Benning)

I've gotba somewhat new plan:

SHayes/NMartin/Coniglio to Clark/DCameron and Petracca/Crisp

Round 12 bye is currently a big problem.
That's a pretty good team with just the 2 rookies (McCartin & Martin) on field, who realistically could hold down D6 & F6 for a week or 2.

I still don't like the S Hayes trade as he should make 40-50k before his bye, flick him then to a rookie for coverage via Benning or upgrade him in rnd 13 to a keeper.

I'd be looking at getting some forward bench coverage and moving Dixon > Khamis via SDK which provides that as well as opening that def/fwd link. Ward (who is out for a while) to Clark also strengthens your bench for rnd 12.

It's then a choice of who out of Whitfield, Rowell and Cogs that you want to fix. Should leave you with a fair bit of cash for upgrades during the byes where I think you'd be looking at moving a couple of the aforementioned plus JDG and upgrading Martin and McCartin in the process.

This advice is issued with the standard rider ie: I'm not very good at SC.

For me he also shares a bye with about 70% of my premos. He and Mills are in line for my last two mid spots

Yeah those last couple spots are where you can start looking at value less and focusing on just getting the best mids possible that work with your byes.

After owning Mills all last year, he would've been locked in my side R1 if he had anything close to a proper preseason. So I pegged him for an upgrade target, now he's been too expensive all season.
