I’m really liking Wines at his price, similar start to last year overall but ignoring his subbed out game it’s better. Averaged 120odd from this point on last year
Just beware that historically he is dependent on accumulating a large amount of the ball to compensate for his poor kicking efficiency and that 120 post bye finish you have alluded to resulted in 21 Brownlow votes from 12 matches (polling in 11/12).

Silly Q I know, but is anyone else having trouble finding Bontempelli in the SC mobile app? Have tried all filters and still can’t find him 🤷🏼‍♂️

Steele to Sicily locked in via DPP Crisp to mids. Gee hope Crisp plays on Sunday.

I'm not very good with these bye strategies. Round 12, I have 10/30 missing. Round 13, 14 missing and only 6 missing in round 14.

If I'm trading the next 2 rounds, do I bring in someone with the round 14 bye? Seeing as though I only have 6 missing? Thoughts welcome.
I've always been an advocate for picking the guys you want to pick and not getting too focused on a score in one round of the season, but there's a line where you probably need to start thinking about it, especially when virtually every relevant downgrade option also has the R13 bye and you currently have only 16 players in that week.

Agree and with some rookies at this stage of the year won’t be traded and just needs to be cover when needed. Can’t trade all the rookie you trade in anymore just not enough trades. Yes a better scoring player is preferred but not always needed, especially if the coin can upgrade in another spot a week or two earlier.

Hopefully Thompson sits at B8 and is never needed, excluding the byes.
Depends what way you look at it I guess, you could make just as valid of an argument Khamis has a bigger ceiling and could spike score his way to making some pretty quick cash, similarly to what Josh Treacy did around about the same time last year.

Sicily the same price as Steele. Should I be targeting the top defender to finalize my def, or go with a Dawson, and target the top 10 mids I haven’t got. Seems too much to pay for Sicily, but he has scored like a mid. CD love him.

When I say finalize I have Whitfield and Rids, the latter I hope has turned the corner.
As good as Sicily is I just dont think I can justify paying basically 600k for him, picking a far cheaper option and banking the cash for another upgrade just makes far more sense to me, dont really think a Dawson/Sinclair is that much worse of a pick from here and you save 60-70k towards the next upgrade.

If you're in a better financial situation than I am with more trades in the bank by all means pay up for Sicily as he's the better player, but I suspect most people aren't in that scenario.

If you’re bringing a premium in with the Round 14 bye that isn’t Neale, Oliver, Petracca, Gawn or Sicily… you are making a season-long compromise that isn’t worth it for the sake of a bye round.

i would be targeting Melbourne/ Fremantle/Brisbane premium players whom have the last bye….
Zorko, Gawn, Petracca, Brayshaw come to mind as targets for me….

maybe also worth planing to move any round 13 rookies from Sydney or WB off to Carlton, GWS, St kilda top ups during the round 13 trades….potentially save a boost for round 13 too?
Thank you all for your responses, something to ponder there. I'll definitely target premiums with the round 14 bye. I haven't got Neale or Oliver atm and with the Steele injury, a spot has opened up there.

I'd be pretty hesitant to pay up for Sicily or Stewart, those points are gone now, really don't think theyll beat the likes of Dawson and Sinclair by enough from here to justify spending so much extra cash.
Thanks for the feedback. I've pinged you in a post that explains my situation.
