ok now done deal for trades, but should i field hinge or sdk
I'm fielding SDK. Said either last week or a fortnight ago that I reckon SDK might come on strong in scoring & match Daicos' output down back at D6 till upgrade time.

I'm actually somewhat tempted to sit tight this week despite the injuries due to the lack of any attractive downgrade targets and I'll need a downgrade to be able to move someone up to Dawson or Brayshaw (for example).

Is that just crazy talk with this team, currently sitting ranked around 4.5k overall?

How long do you intend on holding Rowell and is it worthwhile if it results in G Clark stuck on the bench, when the funds could be freed up to be used on other lines?

Was planning on hanging onto him through to his bye with the Bulldogs (not so good) then Hawthorn and North on the schedule.

Someone made a good point earlier about Cogs also being a potentially decent M9 / F7 option if you're not trading him out now to avoid the bulk of his price drop.

Really it's the lack of decent downgrade options though that's pulling my finger away from the trigger this week, as well as the prospect of seeing who else gets DPP after round 11.

Right now I'm looking at 11+5, 9+10, and 8+13 in terms of premo-to-sub premo splits over the bye rounds, so I can see where I need to prop things up but I'm just not sure of who to do it with and I don't have the cash to upgrade anyone directly this week so that one down I mentioned earlier would be needed.

One way or another this week will probably be the turning point of my season in terms of overall rank and it looks like being a bit of a viper pit with risk everywhere you turn...

S Hayes and NOD to Darcy and Thompson- 0 left over, perfection.
Trading Darcy in after a 51 instead of after a 178 is probably the way to go, although I've been completely out of the loop all week so hopefully I won't find out he's probably injured again.

If you are interested in Brayshaw and Dawson, have you considered trading Rowell to Thompson/Khamis (via Rioli and De Koning) which will allow Whitfield and Daicos to be traded to Dawson and Brayshaw (via O D’Driscoll)?

The rookie batch tends to dry up around this period and you have plenty of trades left if incoming rookies do turn into deadwood, as well as holding three trade boosts which places you in good stead to continue climbing the rankings.

Worthwhile going Whitfield back to Daicos as an out to take McCartin’s 85 and give me a loop? Could also use Hamilton but would then be benching Martin to take Durdin’s 74.

Daicos likely out next week anyhow.

Not quite sure what you mean with that one @jaca

Do you mean reversing the trade to get Whitfield back for the loop?

I reckon both McCartin's 85 and Durdin's 74 are pretty decent rookie scores. Martin could bounce back, but wouldn't think him likely to get a lot more than 70/80 and could easily throw in another 30 odd.

I'm still tossing up whether to field Martin or Clark.

If Essendon keep playing the way they have been, even Rioli could end up with a 107 rather than last weeks 7... Essendon will come out with emotion again as against with the Hawks, but you can't only win that way.

Yea basically a reverse of sorts. Have Whitfield out for now, but could always do it next week.
So its McCartin and Durdin (160)

vs

Whoever you brought in for Whitfield, and Martin/Dudin (75), then?

Think it probably depends on who you brought in for Whitfield if that's the case.

Life got in the way of trading before last nights games
Landed on these three (2 boosts used)
Martin Daicos, Macdonald to Clark, J McGovern, Khamis.
Left stuck with Carroll onfield but Clark is more about the cash than the points anyway.

Ended up selecting Thompson instead.

Once again looking very likely that I will have to scrap my Laird plan and instead trade Whitfield to Dawson to avoid the score from Thompson whilst keeping N Martin for another round. I can select R Laird next round to replace N Martin but this would involve trading Rosas for L Cleary/C Stephens and only 11 trades left.:eek:

Went with Rowell and NOD for Sweet and Thompson, Sweet worked out ok but the second bit not so much, looks like a quick flip to Cleary will be on the cards next week.

The quandry now is whether I use a boost to bring Brayshaw or even Josh Kelly in for Whitfield this week (would slot in over Clark at M8 this week) or sit tight and hang onto the boost for now.

There are cases both for (could add a handful or even a bunch of points this week over Clark's score, might also get my team across the line in a tight private league match up this week after a shocking start) and against (not sure if either one is someone I'd really want to take one of my last two spots in the midfield given I was looking at Mills + 1), so I'm sitting on the fence re making the extra trade or sitting tight?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
