The Giants List Management Team have provided an update in regards to the availability of certain players as we head into the Preseason Draft.

PLAYERS AVAILABLE
  • Logan McDonald (FWD)
  • Trent Bianco (FWD)
  • Thomson Dow (MID/FWD)
  • Kieren Briggs (RUC)
  • Max Lynch (RUC)
  • Tom Highmore (DEF)
  • James Rowe (FWD)
  • Harry Sharp (MID)
PICKS AVAILABLE
  • Pick 8
  • Pick 15
  • Pick 17
  • Pick 20
  • Pick 30

The Giants would be keen to explore packaging up their significant draft hand to move up the draft order and have another Top 5 selection.

The club would potentially like to free up one more list spot prior to the deadline pre-draft, so will be flexible in helping a contracted player find a new home should there be offers.

The Darkness is looking to do one or more of the following today:

- Trade a startable DEF and/or FWD out

- Trade Brad Close (startable FWD recently playing wing, good flex to set second contract)

- Find another home for Will Kelly (DEF-FWD being mooted as a cash cow in Classic, great cover - better than taking a late pick into this year’s draft?)

- Obtain one high (R1 or 2) 2022 draft pick, possibly for a 2023 pick

- Secure a startable MID. Doesn’t have to be a gun.

Happy to be pretty flexible around the above.

If anything is of interest, please drop me a PM.

Rangers will be selling 2022 mid to late picks for bargain prices to anyone willing to offer future value. Feel free to drop a line or offer a live trade on draft night

YRA Update:

Nic Newman: Few nibbles - think people know his scoring ability.

Hayden Crozier: $412,030 - Harvey Norman. Willing to pay significant portion of salary if anyone sees a future.

Liam Shiels: $477,663 Very honest, hard working midfielder who has averaged between 77-96 in 7 of the last 8 years. Plays nearly every week and unfortunately looks to be squeezed at with current midfield group. On offer to give the great clubman a chance to play elsewhere.

Little interest, however no bites.

6-10 weeks out for Charlie Dean. Can’t be bad for Kelly’s prospects.

Nakia Cockatoo is on the table. Current 2nd contract signing so salary would depend on how many years one signs him up for.

A 2023 draft pick would suffice a deal.
Nakia would love to find a new home. In order to allow him that opportunity the Immortals are willing to accept a token 2023 Rd 8 pick for him.

Any takers for … ?

- Brad Close - I paid equivalent of around pick 30 for him just days ago, and would happily accept less now. [I secured several other FWDs in the auction, and he’s the one I have optionality around, as a 2YC player.]

- Will Kelly - rookie DPP who should benefit from Dean’s injury, potentially in terms of both JS and scoring. Going cheap. Would bet that he’s more useful than most of Sunday’s R4 picks, and he’s available cheaper than that!

I have miscalculated my cap (serves me right for relying on my own doc and not the main sheet :ROFLMAO:)

Need to clear min $200k. Lewis, Himmelberg going for free, I'll even throw other stuff in. Any other ideas hit me up. Trying to avoid getting completely screwed but obviously any deal would favour the other team

I remember somebody else who relied on his own spreadsheet over the actual doc

Turns out I've gone early, Naismith to the LTI list has rescued me. Was a stressful couple of hours

The Darkness has pick 28 in Sunday’s draft, and is keen to move up the order, in exchange for pick 28 and a pick/picks in 2023.

This year’s draft is reputedly very “flat” or even, but coach Darkie is prepared to provide good value to another coach, given a strong 2023 hand, to secure his preferred targets.

If you would be interested in trading a 2022 R1 or 2, please drop me a line!

The Giants are open to moving on defender Nick Haynes. Purely a result of having plenty of fit and playing numbers in the defensive area of the park (touch wood), The Giants are keen to explore if a mutually beneficial deal might be able to be found somewhere around the league, as we ideally look to add a MID and/or FWD. A couple of early season injuries have hindered Haynes average to date, however he's shown he still has the ability to produce scores.

Additionally, The Giants are open to offers on the following younger/cheaper players:

Tom Highmore
Finlay Macrae
Kieren Briggs
James Rowe
Anthony Scott
Corey Durdin
Charlie Lazzaro

The Giants are very much still in the market for MIDs and/or FWDs.

Very open to exploring various ways to get deals done, be it player/s, pick/s, or a combination of both.

Plenty of young Giants talent able to be moved on, including those already locked in on longer term deals, should the deal be in the best interests of the club moving forward.

The Darkness has assembled a very strong defense, with 5 players averaging 100+, and a total of 9 averaging 80+.

The club is prepared to trade one or more quality defenders, potentially for a quality mid or ruck.

As always, coach Darkie is happy to consider and suggest different structures to find a mutually beneficial outcome.

Please PM if you have interest.

Just giving this a bump after seeing the Doc love in the R14 thread.

He’s scored 128 and 139 post-bye, and is now the #3 ranked defender in the comp, averaging 113.5.

He’s available, if the trade secures a quality mid or ruck on a long term deal.

The Darkness - List build accelerates ahead of trade deadline

With less than 2 weeks to this season’s trade deadline, The Darkness will be advertising a number of players available for trade.

Some could help a contending coach win the flag in 2022. Some could help set up a list for 2023 or beyond. Some could even do both.

As always, The Darkness is prepared to be flexible to help facilitate trades. Salary need not be an obstacle, especially in 2022. There is also scope to adjust structures to suit both clubs.

If you have interest in acquiring the particular player mentioned, “like” the relevant post, and coach Darkie will drop you a PM to discuss.

If you’d prefer to keep it discrete, you can always PM directly!
