I'm on both the Goldy and D Cameron trains, have netted $100k+ profit from each so far and some very solid scoring.
Still looking at a R14 trade out to the Doggies though - I don't want to have to sideways premiums post-bye and Grundy may be back to wreck the last 5 rounds.
Goldy just feels like a gamble. If Noble suddenly wants to give Comben or someone else a go he could be stuck in the F50 averaging 70 again just like that.

Has the bye this week & going fwd, can you see him averaging more than the dogs trio of English, Bont & Smith?Personally I don’t - then there is Parker, Cogs (in his current role under McVeigh), Brodie, Heeney & Butters who look more solid options.
If looking for a real POD at a potential bargain price after his bye then possibly, I however prefer the other options listed previously 👍

Comparative Pricing Tables - Forwards
As with the other positions, I have run off two tables comparing the 20 highest priced forwards at the start of the season against the current top 20 on price. This one is a little more confused as there are more players who have been given fwd DPP status during the season.
I hope most of it is self-explanatory but these notes should help.
Notes 1 column
An XX indicates that the player is no longer in the top 20 (not in the 2nd table)
An A indicates that the player was added as a forward as a mid-season DPP
Blank or just A indicates the player is somewhere in the 2nd table
Notes 2 column
Blank indicates the player was not in the original top 20 list
Otherwise for players in both lists there will be a notation xx -> yy showing the from & to rankings
Brodie Lynch Gresham & Curnow have risen a long way to get into the current top 20.
Incredibly Bulldogs players are..
* the top 3
* 5 of the top 7
* 7 of the top 13
(Yet - as a Bulldogs man, I reckon our fwd line isn't quite good enough)

For me the lesson here is that we shouldn’t lock up our forward line too much in our starting sides. Forwards #2, 6, 7 and 8 were all unavailable as forwards at round 1, but were added at round 6 or 12.
I suspected this type of outcome might arise, and the data appears to support it (albeit Bont and B Smith were quite lineball in receiving DPP).
While the 2022 data may suggest not locking our forward line in too early, there may be temptation to do so if players like Bont and B Smith are FWD eligible alongside a couple of value picks. Next year’s equivalent of Brodie could be very helpful in generating cash/providing value while holding a spot open for a top line kid who receives DPP mid-year.

The form of key forward Harry Himmelberg in defence across the three games under McVeigh has created a headache for the match committee inside Giants HQ, after the 26-year-old amassed 37 disposals – 14 above his personal best – and 16 marks against North Melbourne.
“I thought about it for about three years, to be honest. That’s probably just off the back of coaching him when he was a kid. I coached him when he was 15 or 16 years of age and knew he could play down back,” McVeigh said.
“Your team has got to allow it to happen. There was an opportunity there obviously with Nick Haynes not being available for some time and Phil Davis being injured as well. The opportunity presented itself; it was a little bit of a risk, knowing he was our best goalkicker. To take him out of the front half we needed to replace that. The gamble has been really good.
“We know how good he is with the ball, but he is a pretty good defender. That’s foremost in our mind, we need him to respect that side of the game. I’ve thought about that for a long time. It didn’t eventuate due to different circumstances; we’ve been able to do that the last few weeks.”
