Culley will train with the Eagles on Friday at Adelaide Oval before the team’s clash with the Crows and is a chance to line-up for the WAFL Eagles next weekend against Claremont.

My guess is they will give him a few games at WAFL level, give him time to settle into living in Perth. Maybe in a month pending his form, he might get a chance then - if he can reproduce some of the form I saw in the videos in the games he has played so far this year, I could certainly see him debuting in 3/4 weeks 🤞
Unless another viable playing rookie presents R14 then I think I will grab Culley regardless of whether he’s named. His price could be the difference between executing planned trades or just missing out.

Hopefully we’ll all have 18 players that score well enough that the extra playing rookie wouldn’t have made any difference or a very small difference to our R14 score anyway.

Thoughts:

Should I bring in a FD donut this week (will def bring in a few 102kers over the byes), or say Owens, and see how the new rookies drop over the coming weeks?
I’m going with Owens so I don’t have to commit to Wehr until we know whether he’s in the side next round. FDs can be handy, but I’d be a bit wary of bringing one in heading into the byes.

Always seem to see you up there in the rankings mate, wont be joining you this year sadly

I’m only gonna be running right on 18 in byes due to so many dead rookies on bench who just die once I grab em

Previous 3 seasons was in the top 200 going into the byes 😭 now I’m sitting pretty at 2.8k
2800 is still a good ranking, we always look for more but could be a lot worse, doing well mate 👍

Question to the WCE supporters on here….what are the chances of Jai Culley getting games during the byes? Not named this week…what chance will he be for round 14?
It is a small sample size to go on but Gardner in 2019 and Newcombe in 2021 did debut much quicker than other midseason draftees.

A common factor is both were playing VFL with the affiliated club.

The next quickest to debut would be around the 4 week mark (round 16), despite the wraps on Culley (and the Eagles struggles) I would expect Rounds 15-17 at the earliest for his debut with a lot of boxes to be ticked beforehand.

As with all rookies the best time to trade is on the bubble however if points over the byes are important pick him on debut for Rd 14 if named and if not then trade in another playing rookie that week instead.

Well, tonight’s match is certainly going to shape the round of many.

I have a third of my players in just tonight’s match with a total of 7. English, Macrae, Dunkley, McComb, Stewart, De Koning and Stephens.

I imagine most are in a similar boat and some may even have as many as 8 or 9?

Yep I’ve got 8. Including a full dogs forward line. Bont, English VC, Dunkley, Treloar, West, McComb, Macrae, SDK.

I've got 7 with English, Macrae, Dunkley, Bazlenka, McComb, Khamis (score likely won't count) & SDK. Also likely a VC in play too.

Got the same first six and Bont in place of Stephens.

Just 4. I'm going to be well behind most tonight, but can hopefully come home strong with 21 total.

So I've butchered this.

Plan has been Hayes to Darcy, and to fund that Whitfield is going out. But it leaves me with 171k.

Ideally a warm body would give me 18 on field

As far as I can tell that would have to be Parnell or Winder or maybe one of the Hawks gets a game (Callow).

It feels like a waste. Not inclined to boost to improve my position, so do I suck up 40 points, or do I cut the losses and take (say) Owens, or cut them further and grab Teakle as that 102k F/R donut that I always planned to own?

Hard to say without seeing your team but based on that info I'd accept the donut and take Treakle.

BUT if there is someone else you would be happy to trade out and could get a premo for them with that 117k (one who didn't get you into trouble in a later bye round) I would definitely do that as well. At this point, what are you holding a boost for?
