Depends if your "finished" side includes those who haven't lived up to expectation ie Butters atm.
If they come good, then all is well, but if they don't and you need to include them in your trade plans that could slow the path to completion.
Well for example, and my side is not near the top teams, I've got Butters/Martin as a F7/M9 after I complete my final 4 upgrades over the next 3 or so weeks. The question is whether I can get the final midfield upgrade without having to cash them or wait a week extra.

Has this been the highest averaging season (so far) for mids ?

Bont is currently sitting 20th on average and he is averaging 108.4

Hewett currently 10th with with 117.3

For what it's worth, agree with the consensus that Macrae, Neale, Cripps, Oliver, Petracca, Miller, Steele are the 7 that we should target. My tilt is towards Walsh for M8, but I can see Brayshaw or Parish also being fine. Will depend on what happens.

Idealy scenario, I'll have Whitfield/Hewett floating D7 and M9 during the back half. Before you all jump down my throat to say Hewett is averaging 117 - fair enough, but I think is H2 will be a bit softer - my plan was always to trade him out around Bye time, but the injury has hurt that a bit.

Going to be very patient in fillinf the Fwd line with superstars, in the event that we're gifted a Bont/Danger/Bailey Smith type or 2. Brodie/Cogs doing fine. Forwards actually look really ugly this year, total opposite of everyone's thinking. Might even look at Butters as a contrarian trade-in in a few weeks, when everyone is turfing him - if it looks like he gets more mid time. Ditto for Heeney, if he moves out of that stinking role he's in.

Cripps has become a bit of a worry with Carlton losing a couple of talls in Pittonet and Mackay, anyone know the timeframe for their returns?

Actually asked my mate who works at the Blues this last night, and funnily enough he overheard Pitto talking about his rehab yesterday. Targeting a Round 14 return.

Anyone been watching Andy Brayshaw and have any thoughts on why his scoring has dipped? Stats look OK to me - gets enough of it, has a pretty good K:H most weeks, good tackle count…. Contested ball is a bit lower than you’d want for a premo, has he been using the ball damagingly enough? How does Fyfe back affect his role and can he go at 112+ from here?

He goes into his shell a bit when getting extra attention, also goes quiet for a quarter, but, finishes strong in last quarters.

Looking at a rd 12 player (after this round) to finish my mids, either Parish (625k) or Walsh (629k) seem the best choices (possibly Kelly, but I have my reservations!)
My mids would then look like:
Neale, Oliver, Macrae, Touk, Cripps, Petracca, Green, _____
*Green may need upgrading also, but can be a post-bye luxury trade I think.

Pros:
Parish - Has scored VERY well in such a terrible side. Lowest score of 97 is unreal. Even with a potential shuffle of the magnets, seems unlikely to lose his spot in the engine room.
Walsh - Seems back to his best in recent weeks, capable of some monster scores.

Cons:
Parish - Team travelling poorly + potential disharmony etc
Walsh - Back from injury, might be rested at some point. Blues injuries mounting might have an impact in the short term.

Can anyone provide any thoughts one way or another?
Am sitting around the 2k mark with 19 trades and 3 boosts in hand, am playing for best overall spot and want to make a move in rd 13/14.

I prefer Parish of the 2 just because you know he will always be at every centre bounce/stoppage, whereas Walsh sometimes gets pushed to the outer to accommodate Cripps, Cerra, Hewett & Kennedy.

They are both great options though.

Comparative Pricing Tables - Mids

Out of interest, I have run off two tables comparing the 20 highest priced midfielders at the start of the season against the current top 20 on price.
I hope most of it is self-explanatory but these notes should help.
Notes 1 column
An XX indicates that the player is no longer in the top 20 (not in the 2nd table)
Blank indicates the player is somewhere in the 2nd table
Notes 2 column
Blank indicates the player was not in the original top 20 list
Otherwise for players in both lists there will be a notation xx -> yy showing the from & to rankings Screenshot 11.JPG
There are eight ins and outs, with the 5 absolute starting guns staying in the top bracket.
Neale is the one newcomer to the top 10 and that is certainly not unexpected.
Most of the other newcomers are at the lower end of the top 20.
Four of the current top 20 are eligible as Fwds and three others as defenders.
