Eskinazi is playing Grade cricket in Perth , dual citizen so they could sign him as a local (possibly)
OS it is then

@Professor , born in South Africa to a English born mother & a Zimbabwean born father.

Moved to Australia played U17's & U19's with WA where one of his team mates was Agar.

Moved back to England and this year played for the England Lions against South Africa.

Has captained Middlesex.

Record is not bad.

Why they need to have 4 OS from the start I have no idea , big let down from Banton or Roy

Ashton Agar played under 17s and 19s for Victoria. Junior club was McKinnon.

I think they've done pretty well in all honesty considering they had to find someone last minute Lyth was a top 5 run scorer in both the T20 Blast and Hundred, on pure form hes just as good of a pick as Banton or Roy really and gives them a much needed left hander.

I can't remember his 5 Ashes Tests , Ave 12.78 , they must have been ordinary back then.

Probably had worse players sign.

Been tracking Eskinazi for awhile now.

Won't be targeting either though so it makes my Round 2 Scorcher options a bit clearer.

Depends if Mills is fit or not. Could easily have the top 3 be all OS players if Mills misses a game. Not like the Scorchers don’t have the local talent to fill the void of a bowler.
Mills arriving Monday night as well by the sounds of it , might prefer to ease him in as well.

Definitely have the depth to do so.

Wonder how good a keeper Eskinazi is? Possibility of fading Inglis?
Probably not.
He didn't keep this past English summer.
He opened the batting for Middlesex in the T20s and one-dayers and batted 3-5 in the County Championship.

Why the Scorchers picked up two openers is a puzzle.
Both did OK opening the batting in their T20s but I think I'd trust Eskinazi more.
The fact he played U17 and U19 in WA surely helps.
Has Lyth played in Australia before? Even grade cricket? At 35 I wonder how he'll adapt to Australian pitches - even the batter friendly BBL ones..

Thanks, not sure how well either play, just confuses the team order/dynamic now.

Probably a guy that’s less known to you AFL guys but if this came from Timmy Williams as suggested it isn’t just another podcast guy. Guy was previously with daily telegraph and anytime he brought forward mail in the nrl season it was usually on the money, was often before main journos. Guy is legit.

We’d still want confirmation as you’d expect it to be circulating heavily, but I’m building as if it’s correct for now.
Finished 43rd last season
