Well this is getting exciting!

Poll added. We can include two more trade-in options if anyone has any suggestions.
Thank you.

We are 108 points behind 10th. That is 27 points per round we need to make up to get some cash for the site. It seems manageable, as long as we don't do anything completely stupid. Just keep doing what we've been doing lately I guess!

The most amazing part is we have had some extremely unlucky decisions (and some unlucky 50/50s) that at the time looked like would be game over. Even this week, if we’d gone Dorff over Marnus we’d have an extra 87 points in the bank but still climbed the rankings. Great effort by everyone who is contributing!

I just reread the T&C's and it is Top 11 that gets prize money, not Top 10 as I thought it was. 4th to 11th place all get $1,000. We are only 97 points behind 11th.

Only lets you vote once in the poll, I'd bring Head in, can really do as you please with the other two trades, dont really think them being Heat players is an absolute necessity as thered still be 7 trades with a boost and most have high BE's but its likely to be the popular route, I'd personally back Khawaja before Brown but not sure the ownership will reflect that.

Honestly guys. This is pretty outrageous. Well done to all of you.

17th!!

3 more decisions to go. Get it done.

I think everyone that's had a look at this thread wants to see a single digit score in your sig @Ironhawk come the end of the season.

This has to happen footy season:ROFLMAO:

Think there might be a bit more traffic, but geez there's traction now to say this could be a formula that runs deep in a competition (and it's already deep at try 1)

Thanks for flagging, the poll has now been corrected to allow multiple selections (4 in this case - albeit I doubt we would boost this round, it does give us a slightly bigger sample).

I’ll tag a few people who have been active recently, who may want to add to any votes they’ve made overnight:

@Ironhawk
@Diabolical
@Connoisseur
@Herbie66
@Chumpion
@The Banker (votes for this poll are anonymous, albeit that isn’t always the case!)
@Young gun
@toxic
@Tails
@Tamuhawk

Significantly more invested in this than my own team now :ROFLMAO:

At this stage there's only one move I feel strongly about and that's to get Head in. Represents Mitch Marsh level value for mine.

Not exactly rushing to get any Heat players in either, Neser and Steketee obviously well worth a look by the double though.

Not really any need to fix the loop situation if Connolly doesn't play, which I would say is pretty likely coming up to the business end of the season.

Maybe Carey in to realise Handscomb's loop value but I don't feel strongly about it.

Id want to rely on Heat players for as little period as possible, if it means one or two less doubles in that round than so be it, rather have quality over quantity.

Even Khawaja I'd want to see perform in the BBL before we are getting excited to pay 150K.

What are people’s thoughts on the grounds for this round?
It feels like there won’t be a heap of wickets at either AO or Blundstone and Marvel could go either way. Could be a few 4-6 wicket innings which could hurt if we are too stacked on bowlers?
If someone has time it might be good to validate that though (I might be able to have a look once I get a few life things done)?

As well as trade ins, who are we looking at trading out? I believe this will be Lynn's last match this round, so he will be one traded either this game or next - don't know that we have 6 total clear trade out options over these next two rounds though. As Herbie said a few days ago, maybe we need to work backwards a bit and decide who we want in the team at the end to sort this out. With a few doubles in those last two rounds though, a bit of flexibility could also be key, but we do need to decide on some key SGR for the next two rounds minimum.

We also need to choose who to field and who to bench/ give the E too. This probably depends a bit on the trades - It looks like Head is a definite favourite option to bring in for game 1, potentially Carey too. I'd probably be looking at benching those not batting top 4 / bowling 4 regularly.

VC on Short seems popular, are the Head/Carey ins likely to affect his scoring at all?

Lots to decide still in the next 7 hours!

Trade ins (3)
Trade outs (3)
VC
C if VC fails
E's (3)
Benched with no E (2)

I haven't added to this thread to date but thought I would put forward a few things for you all to consider:
  • Being a SGR, try and use the fixture (below) to optimise bench loop where appropriate
  • Decide on your 4 BATs & 4 BWL's that you're comfortable with fielding straight up, the remainder can be used as loop if fixture allow
  • Clarke is a prime candidate to be loop in WKP, keep a trade on hand to potentially trade in a Holt/Handscomb if required
  • Connolly provides a loop for BAT or BWL, keep another trade on hand for CGreen if both loops are required
  • Lynn, MShort & Labuschagne locks out in the first game so a decision needs to be made on them
  • If adopting the above strategy, then only up to 2 trades can be executed for tonight's game as we potentially need to trade in up to 2 donuts if our loops succeed (means using our final boost)

That should provide a good starting platform to hopefully clarify what's required and/or possible for this round.

Couple of other names to consider:

Rogers - scoring well and has the ceiling..
Hatcher - cash grab?
Fawad - speculative but gets the Gade spin roll?
My thoughts only on these:

Rogers (assuming Renegades?) seems a reasonable pick. 4 of his last 6 sub 40 and a 65 BE is a bit of a question mark at that price. I'd have concerns.

Hatcher, BE -47. I really don't mind this pick at all, but would suggest probably looping him if possible. 51, 91, 71 from his last 3 games for $115,600 looks very good. Good option.

Not sure we want to punt on Fawad, when Kellepotha could do the same for a much cheaper price. Not for me.

One thing I have meant to flag for a while - if we don’t have a compelling use for it beforehand, I would like to have a boost in hand for the last round:

- It allows us to exit more Scorchers straight after their double/before their bye, which is good, because they’re a strong team with a number of good options

- It obviously allows us to add more Hurricanes in their place for the final round double

- Perhaps more importantly, if we are wanting to have a crack to catch up points (eg if we drop to say 25, and want to chance our arm to get into the top 11 … or maybe if we stay around where we are and want to have a crack at the podium), we have more opportunities to change our side with info heading into (and even during) that final round, and greater ability to create PODs.

If we find several SGR players we really want near term, there’s an argument for getting an extra one in early to make use of them for longer, but absent that or a 120+ type loop score, the final round seems a good one to use the boost on my assessment.
