A little unconventional at this point with 5 genuine mid pricers (Hopper, Worple, Fyfe, Sheed and Yeo). Will go back to 3 (probably Sheed and Yeo/Worple out) as the genuine rookie options emerge.

Going for uber premos this year regardless of value - Grundy, Lloyd (partial bounce back) and Daicos (breakout) the exceptions.

Similar structure to mine i think the fwd line you need another keeper. Dunks and taranto for me are the two best picks in the fwd line.
Teams who are going 4 expensive fwds, IMO is the wrong move. There will be midfielders and rucks getting dpp during the year which will be better options than cogs, roozee butters etc… i think llyods days are over as a rebounding defender, i think a move to the midfield would suit him, look what it did for laird similar players. I like the mid price selections bar fyfe.

Early days I know but I see a number of draft teams with both McKenna and Wilmot. The Lions are as they say "in the window" and have a reasonably mature defence so breaking into it could be a challenge. I know Adams is out but they have guys to replace him. If they want speed out of the backline McKenna probably fits the bill and takes some pressure off Rich who often appears near the top of the metres gained stat (and could McKenna affect Rich scoring?). But can they fit in both McKenna and Wilmot consistently. Or will it be in and out depending on opposition match ups. Ashcroft is another one. No question of talent and Neale has been impressed by him apparently. But will he get enough minutes on a consistent basis at that high price. If he was at a lower end team rebuilding he would probably get as many mid minutes as he could handle but so hard to break into a Lions team that appears to be full of solid players on every line.

I am finding it difficult to choose from these 2 options.
Hammelberg (in Def) & a Playing Fwd Rookie
- Hammelberg consistantly plays every game each year and could become a Keeper.
OR
Yeo & Allen.
Both coming of long term injuries. Both will probably increase in value.

Thoughts?

Himmelberg has been training with the fwds this preseason - set to return to playing as a key fwd.

Previous 3 year averages when playing as a fwd - 71, 66 & 76

Yeo is switching between half & midfield at training, looking much more like his own self - explosive/ breaking lines. When last fully fit he averaged between 108 & 102 during 2017-2019. Allen is looking great at training, moving very well & ready to become the main key fwd with JK retired. He is a far better pick than a fwd rookie with his great job security & scoring potential.

Yeo & Allen easily for me in answer to your question.

Thanks Shannon. I suppose that my concern with both Yeo & Allen is just if they can get back to their best. Yes, I know that both are currently showing that they are both coming back to their best but it is one thing to show in match simulation & another in AFL games. I have concerns with them breaking down again.

@HoleyFrijole$ on this WCE possible team :-

Waterman & Petruccelle I personally don't think should be best 22 - have been given ample opportunity over the years to cement their spots & have failed to take them. Ryan actually plays tall for his size so could be the 3rd tall fwd so Waterman not required.

Expect Shuey to play more half fwd in what could be his last year.

Here is my guess/ hope before any preseason games :-

FB: Hurn - Barrass - Cole
HB: Duggan - McGovern - Hough
C: Gaff - Culley - Hunt
HF: Sheed - Darling - Shuey
FF: Ryan - Allen - Cripps
Fol: Naitanui - Yeo - Kelly

Int: Williams - Ginbey - Clark - Chesser/Hewett
