I think most of you now by now that I'm generally a pretty positive person.

It's a tough position to be in. I just didn't think I could catch a break from here, and with so much working against me of recent times (some of my own doing), it just gets to the point where at the death you wonder if you have enough bark left in the bite.

I have finished the night at 0/411 so it's not as much death riding as what it seemed at 7:15pm when Smith came into bat.

There were huge moments in that match. For starters I was cheering Hooley without recognising that Andrew had him which is just such an overlook. Then it turned to Crawley and David after Wade and Jewell just cooked me with such opportunity. Opportunity that they have had multiple times with faith.

That just felt against the tide and then I finally got something back with Ellis at the end.

Still in the race, but it's a game that can just break you at times. I've said this to multiple people behind the scenes...I can't wait for it to be over just so I can get my life back. I'm on holidays to enjoy myself and so wrapped up in this.
I hear ya and I’m not as pointy end as you, 2 days and it’s done Andrew, not dead yet 🔥

That is amazing.
If it were SCS League it would be more understandable, but a random public League, that is long odds.
What’s also amazing is that I am also in that same random public league as @Darkie and so too is @Tamuhawk who I’m matched up against in the main Grand Final.
Your coaching are wasted in a public league, you fine gents should divert your attention to coaching more SCS leagues!:p

They have:
David 49
Jewell 7
Ellis 92
Abbott 97
Smith 101
Then he has some decisions to make. He put the E on McDermott (33). He can either loop him in or trade Holt/Inglis/Bancroft to a WKP.
The other decision is his VC, he had Meredith (28).

The 5th bench player is Inglis. Keep in mind he has only used 1 trade so far. I have no idea if he has a boost in hand or not.
To my knowledge there is no boost in play

Still a few things to play out yet and the tide can turn back in your favour just as quickly as it has gone against you in recent games.
You've done a remarkable job to put yourself in this position, that in itself is a great achievement. What's not lost to us all is the attitude that you've taken to the game, you're already a winner in our eyes!
There's every possibility that we'll be crowning an Andrew as our winner and if you haven't changed your name (like you've been your avatar) then the dream is still alive!

Thanks Thanh.

I would love to see Andrew win it again, a 2 time champ is such an achievement, and I recognise he has his supporters, heck I'm supporting him too.

I can live with it not being me. It does become frustrating when everything you try seems to continuously fail. If you are going to take on great coaches then you have to be prepared to change the game. If you don't then you won't win.

I'm proud of the game I have played. Nobody thought I would trade Smith in, and nobody thought I would trade him out. I did it all for the betterment of my team. And yet I just haven't been able to close him out. Such kudos to an unbelievable player at this game.

2 days to go thankfully.

Abbott E locked in. McDermott E locked. VC Ellis locked.

Kerr on 48 its it worth the punt on a webster this round.? or take the 48.

Currentlly placed at 110 with the goal of top 100.
While Webster is no guarantee to beat 48, it would seem going Webster over Kerr would see you having a greater chance of reaching your goal of top 100.

Two days, three matches and 12 score involvements to come for your team (compared to 11 for mine.) That makes it an SGR from here and we all know how volatile scoring gets in those rounds. You are in this up to your eyeballs, just like some of those behind us are. Just keep sticking to your plan.

1/501 (Ellis, 7si). Late junk from Ellis and Abbott worked a treat in turning mediocrity into a good start. Hoping for runs from both Wade and McDermott in game two. Also need to choose between Marnus and Renshaw - who knows right? I guess Renshaw because he may roll his arm over?

No involvement tonight, will probably give myself a night off. I know the game affects the semis of the BBL, but honestly, none of them outisde of the top 2 deserve it - last night the Sixers played an experimental team away from home and won easily. Should just be a best of 5, World Series style between the Scorchers and the Sixers!

Think I’ve gone one light one Canes batters, Wade and McDermott combo isn’t looking healthy, on the plus side m with that trade to play with all I have to do now is work out who’s tonning up or getting a double Hat-trick, or both ideally 😂
Did the same - took one less Cane batsman with the possibility of rain.

The trade could have been very handy in the event of the second innings being washed out. Now it is pure guesswork in how to best use it.

Maybe Stoinis in to make 150 in the last game to grab me a couple of extra KFC vouchers.

1/376 (Meredith, not taken).

So I messed up last night and went against the grain and took my lowest scoring Canes as VC.

So now I have a big call to make, so I wait for Meredith to have his second game and then assess options (Sams is the only other C option at this stage) or I get on the front foot and back a MShort/Neser/Renshaw as C?

I'm a little down on Canes (only 5 Wade, Dooley, Ellis, Meredith (VC), David) so currently my SGR players are MShort, Neser, Sams, Renshaw/Head, Bazley (and Abbott).

Anyone have any thoughts as to the best course of action?

Waiting for the second game seems the best bet to me, if it’s no good, go for Sams

My opinion - hold off. Meredith could easily take 3 against an underperforming Heat batting line up. If not, then you have a reasonable back up option.
