Haven't seen much discussion on Short. Might be ok this year if he can return to the backs due to the extra mids the Tigers have drafted?

If there's enough rookies and he's clearly in a DEF role early doors you probably could start him in the mids and move him back when DPP comes. Would just be a case of weighing up a D rookie vs a M rookie for 5 rounds, versus the potential discount you can pick him up at now.

I reckon defence will be our best line for rookies this year so I dont really mind going light, hard to see how 2 or 3 of Wagner,Wilmot,McKenna,Dean,Goater,Ginbey,Chesser,Constable,Weddle and Cowan don't work then theres Bruce who should get DPP Round 6 plus Jones and Coffield a little more expensive.
Can likely fill a spot with Yeo and Bowes who are priced miles under what they are capable of delivering aswell.

Docherty is just a very good player. Like Laird is just a very good player. Always happy to see them in my team. I missed the boat on Docherty last year. He simply got away from me. I wonder how much an illness plays into general fitness?

This seems like the ultimate idiot's dilemma.
When you'll play your best intercept and rebounding defender, who is genuinely an AA level player at that position, forward to cover a rookie who couldn't be any worse at the position than he is and may as well learn the position you're just being stupid.
Taylor, Himmel and pick the 3rd from Haynes, Davis, Aleer and Keeffe et al just seems too easy. At this point, may as well try one of the others as a forward if you really don't want to play Cadman, Himmel can be elite as a defender but he's proven he's below average at best as a forward, pretty sure all that latter group can perform at a similarly low level.
I don't even care fantasy wise, I can't pick him as a starting pick when the coach is already showing he's been indoctrinated by Giant philosophy so it's really just a frustration at how people can be so stupid and fall into AFL coaching gigs.

Jack Buckley could be another one in the backline, did his ACL in round 16 2021. Played 14 straight games that year before going down with the injury in the 15th.
Potentially a cashcow this year, priced at $205,000.
