Whats the right mix rookie wise is always the question, there's enough on paper but how many are definitely holding down best 22 and scoring sufficently? Most of the good ones appearing to be north of 150K isn't ideal either.
Million dollar question

32 days to go , just hurry up and start , be suffering preseason planning fatigue shortly.

Does feel like we are kind of forced to pick more of those 500k sort of premiums and omit guys north of 600K, or have to the roll the dice on starting with less premiums than your competitors, I just worry some of these cheaper premos dont quite hit the mark and we are left chasing some of the best players in the comp all season long.

What ends up better 10 genuine top quality premos in a starting side or pushing to 11 or 12 by omitting more of the top echelon of premium and looking for a bit more value from the likes of Daicos,Young,Green.

I wonder if we can wait on guys like Rozee & Taranto (price shouldn't get away) and looks at cheaper "stepping" stones like Cunnington , Fyfe , Milera , Ziebell etc price types instead (all will need to be upgraded though) , possibility of DPP for Milera & Ziebell could be valuable if going cheap in defence.

Allen , Daniels , McLean , King , Bruce , Pedlar etc (?) possibly viable onfield

Possibly allows starting 2 - 3 of Laird , Oliver , Neale , Miller , Mills + Bont in the midst.

Anderson , Green , LDU , Warner etc all seem speculaive as well.

Just keep moving the pieces around at the moment

Yeah, I'm doing too much tinkering, somehow Sam Berry has lobbed in my mid. Haha.

I started last year lighter on premiums than the quote on quote cookie cutter side and never really found it to be too much of a problem, smart trading in season and you catch up very quickly, at the end of the day we all coach our own sides got to back the way you want to play, being able to quickly amend a up with the adding of boosts also makes me more inclined to adopt more left field starting strategies.

$ 478,700.00 interesting price.

Add him to that Anderson , Green , LDU , Mitchell , Warner etc bracket.

Interesting with Sloane returning and what they do with Crouch , but based on last season , might not be a bad option.

I am going to end up slotting Milera in , surely this is the year it all clicks for him , such a talent

Yes once it starts it then becomes a trading game.

Lots of different ideas/options for starting structures at this time of the year.

Milera has been in my side most of the pre season, obviously has injury risk but if hes playing half back and taking kick ins I think hell do enough for the price, has gone at high 80s for around half season stretches in that role previously, also crucial to have another guy to move into defence if thats the line I'm going light.

Still developing. A lot of faith being put into emerging defenders like Daicos and Young, very risky.

I'm struggling to find balance in the team this season. Trying to negotiate the sub early also might be challenging finding that balance of rookies to field.

Obvious exclusion Hopper. He's in and out. I like Callaghan this season also but that line has some movement. Titch is a watch also, I'm fence sitting there, I think there's a real possibility he starts racking up 30+ touches a game and becomes damaging. Would really like Docherty and Dawson or at least one to underpin the backline. Still think Cogs is a better pick then both Rozee and Taranto but can't fit him in.

Coffield will probably start to find his way into a few teams.

Callaghan is one I'll watch very closely, I actually think hes going to be one of their main beneficiaries this year, either gets a significant boost in CBA's or takes Kelly's outside role which absolutely feeds points, by Round 1 he'll be coming in at 192cm/90kg and is a good athlete should be more than able to hold his own in whatever role he gets.

All the hype is Hopper and Sheed as they've done it before and more recently but I think there's scenarios where the likes of Callaghan,Culley,Worpel etc end up just as good if not better selections.

This where I am at right now. Plenty coin to fill out team. 1 mid pricer and 13 rookies.
Reckon I am 1 premium short. D4, M5, F3 ?
What do you guys reckon?

Average of $ 133k per player for the remaining 14 spots , might need a fair few adjustments if they don't present Round 1

Reckon most peeps rocking 11-14
I guess a lot are using $ 123,900.00 or less who probably won't even be named Round 1 , makes their onfield team look strong , but probably totally unrealistic.

Already injury concerns on guys like Chesser , Sinn , Wagner all who are over 30% ownership.

I guess until teams are announced we won't know though.

Aside from Madden , currently my cheapest bench player is Hewett , personally find it a lot easier to use more expensive priced players on the bench then adjust down once the rookie situation is a lot clearer , that way I don't have to change too much onfield to balance things out.

Complete your side as you posted it with 14 rookies , got me curious now how they fit given 3 of them named are $ 170k ish , be interesting to see a "finished" side.

I guess 14 @ $ 123,900.00 is 1,734,000.00 so maybe they can fit , whether they are named Round 1 or not is just guesswork.

Might write your team down and have a play around tomorrow.
