Complete your side as you posted it with 14 rookies , got me curious now how they fit given 3 of them named are $ 170k ish , be interesting to see a "finished" side.

I guess 14 @ $ 123,900.00 is 1,734,000.00 so maybe they can fit , whether they are named Round 1 or not is just guesswork.

Might write your team down and have a play around tomorrow.
Just to follow up Herbie, what do you reckon? Original post structure, latest “filled” team. Not sure i like the the filled team

It was looking good until you filled it 😀

Couldn't fault the 16 you had , just need the remaining 14 to all be named Round 1 and perform.

Might only need to tweak 2-3 of your premiums/midpricers to adjust some of your rookies.

Interesting to see though.

I keep changing, trying all wierd and wonderful combinations, but this is what I always come back to!
  • Def - 2 x Premium and Yeo.
  • Mid - 4 x Premiums and Hopper as well as expensive rookies on the field.
  • Ruc - Witts and Marshall
  • Fwd - 3 x Premiums as well as expensive rookies on the field.

I have gone expensive rookies because they may have a bit more job security and it is easier to downgrade than find extra cash.

Yep, that's an easy structure to fall back on. ATM I'm running another premo mid and one less premo defender.

Think this structure that I’ve stumbled upon is the most realistic version I’ve found.

Def: Dawson, Yeo, Bowes, Goater, Ginbey, McKenna (Wilmer, Cowan)
Mid: Laird, Oliver, Miller, Bont, Hopper, Ashcroft, McLean, Phillips (Johnson, Baker, Chesser)
Ruc: Grundy, Marshall (Madden)
Fwd: Dunkley, Cogs, Rozee, Taranto, Ziebell, Bruce (van Rooyen, Comben)

Forward and even mid rookies looking to be few and far between at this early stage.

Version 3. Gone 3 midpricers in the mids based on their role.
Hunter at a new club on a wing.
Ash back to the back flank, running the ball out of defence.
Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera with a new role off the back flank.

These are my stepping stones, whilst minimising onfield rookies.

I can't see Hunter scoring well enough to be a stepping stone.
Gawn is too risky at his price point I think in a role that will have a significant time forward.
Motlop only going to score if he kicks 3 goals. Doesn't get enough of it otherwise and so many small fwds at the blues.

Liam jones I don't trust at the moment - I think you'll see him, Bruce and Keath vying for that last backline spot at the moment and not sure which way they go/ if they throw it around a bit.

Appreciate the feedback, agree with most points. I have complete faith in Jones, should start CHB. Not overly concerned with the ruck split with Gawndy. Gawn might actually score higher as a forward getting contested marks and goals, whilst rucking in the forward 50. There's a bit of risk in everyone's teams, going this way I could easily downgrade a 300k player to a rookie and upgrade elsewhere. Just can't wait to watch some games to get a feeling for our selections, only to change 10 players in your side. 😉

I had very similar to this not that long ago before I started to try find ways to fit all the mid pricers in, Grundy I'm very meh on but it might just be the position where we have to save a little bit of coin to pay up for the big 4 mids.
