They said whoever is in the best form will be their ruck in Round 1 in one of the pressers recently which didn't exactly invoke confidence, think Lycett is capable but the threat of Finlayson plus Hayes,Teakle and Vinsenti is always going to be there.

We'll all end up picking Lycett and Hinkley will drop him haha can see it already, its the position Ive had the most trouble with all pre season and not much looks to be changing there, hopefully someone just comes out in the pre season games and stamps their authority but feels unlikely, sides tend to manage their Rucks and give their whole ruck brigade an opportunity in pre season matches.
My preference would be one premo and a value pick so I could just let the Ruck line play out but how do you pick any of Cameron,Lycett,Meek or Draper with any confidence at all? Really tough to decide what to actually go with.
I think it defaults to Grundy sadly. The lowest price he has been since 2017, we know he can score well, has a great mid fueld around him, should go at 100 at least, other options are probably higher risk.

Just worry that one week hes the primary Ruck for a 110 and the next he plays a greater forward split and drops a 60, hard to see consistent output from the scenario he is in as he really isn't much of a forward.
The fact that even the club doesnt seem to know how it is going to work is a bit of a worry, think you see a bit of experimentation in the early rounds until they can get it right, think certain matchups will suit Gawn more than Grundy and vice versa aswell, just sounds like a nightmare to pick either.

Think the closer we get the more I'm leaning towards just paying up for Witts, dont think he maintains quite the same level but hes historically very durable aside from the knee and is a clear solo Ruck, if we can get 100-105 and 22 games you probably take it at this point.

I agree. I changed my rucks today to go with Witts/Marshall. I think both should average 100+ for the season as long as they play as permanent rucks Both stand alone rucks and hopefully end up a set/forget for the year barring injury. Unclear on Grundy/Gawn set up is going to work, English has had 2 injuries in the pre-season with abductor and hammy tightness so no confidence in him playing full season and don't know ruck set up a Freo. I'm hoping Gawn gets R/F status to get him in up forward for ruck coverage and I'll be right as I'm not interested in anyone that has R/F status ATM. Good luck with the ruck merry go round

Think English will be the best Ruck in terms of average per full games played, how many he actually plays at full capacity is the problem, dont think anyone in the comp has his ceiling.
I really like Darcy as a player but wanted a good pre season so these recurring niggles could be a thing of the past and it hasnt happened.
