I actually really like OMc as an option if they do go wide of Fort, which they should but AFL coaches gonna AFL coach...

With Fort last year he averaged 86.4 from 15. With McStay he averaged 97 from 6. His last 4 full games (removed the injury) including finals he averaged 106, all without Fort.

The Fort factor is very noteworthy, who knows what they will do, there's no doubt that OMc is a MUCH better player without him, whether they're a better side is a bigger question. I'm not sure how they can play Fort, Daniher, Hipwood and Gunston without huge sacrifices at ground level, I don't see how it works but that doesn't mean they wont try it often.

Will be watching preseason very closely as OMc as a lone ruck is a ~100 guy which could make him a decent value starting pick. Also capable of huge scores so could bridge to whoever ends up at the top.

People overthinking the rucks I reckon. We have 36 trades this year. If Marshall is a given then surely you just take English to start and trade him at the first sign of trouble. Clear number 1 with a somewhat proven history.

SuperCoach fundamentals, KISS.
Hmmm New Avatar. JFH locked at F4.?

Call me cynical, but isn't it strongly in the interests of Channel Seven Perth - and therefore strongly in the interests of Ryan Daniels - for him to be bullish on the finals prospects of the Fremantle Dockers and the dynamism of a young ruckman just recruited to the club?
More preseason hype, happens every year. Every new signing from another club get the same old lines in the paper every pre season.

But Darcy is held togehter by tape, if he goes down for more than 3 weeks, then Jackson move's stariaght into the FWD Line.

Gee Wiz, lots of hype about a new signng at 750K per year, who averages under a goal a game and is a supporting ruck role.

I just find it very hard to believe a 4th year player who has next to zero midfield experience is going to match it with the best mids of the comp and not be a complete liability, when I see it I'll believe it, trying to be the next Blicavs and actually being capable of doing it are two very different things.

Makes me far more likely to pick Darcy if he doesnt rob him of as much centre bounce Ruck time though.
Exactly, but you need to pump up your 750K investment. Jackson will play Lobbs role and show a bit more when asked to provide ruck support.

Hasnt got the engine for midfeild.

Is there anything to suggest they will be going back the 1 ruckman?

Fort fell out of favour in the second half of the season, playing only 5 games after R12, and 3 of them as the sub.

Issue is they were using McStay as the chop out, who's now gone, don't think they'd risk chucking Daniher into the ruck with injury history, although that's improved a lot since moving to Bris.

Might be forced to pick an OMac/Blics/Nank type now with English having another niggle, not ideal.

Might consider Cameron again, not ideal if Cox is in their side but might give us a bit of a window to determine who the proper rucks will be and address that need accordingly when the time comes.

Cameron seeming to have just as many hiccups as English.

Not confident in a bloke that seemed to run out of gas in some games after the role change, who then had some interruptions in his first preseason as an actual ruck, also seems almost certain to share Ruck duties.

Miss the days of spending 1.2m-1.4m and never having to look at this line all year haha

There really doesn't seem to be anyone definitive right now, even Marshall still has some question marks.
