He's rucking to no one and hitouts are pretty much all he does. I really don't like that dynamic. Especially if they lose a couple of those games and magnets start spinning.

Plus, I can't help but feel like Meek is the better player and that neither is really a good KPF option so you'd get to round 5 when Lewis is back and he could be out of the side entirely.

Too much uncertainty for mine, definitely could be the answer but the idea with not going premiums is to make 50k and be pretty safe doing it while assessing everything, not to have even more questions than the premiums you're not picking!



Yep, 100% this. If they're not there until round 6 to make the cash then all you've got is a really hard hole to fill, especially if they're on field which the rucks kind of fall into by default. Not as bad if taking at R3 though.

I did like the look of McAndrew though, he more than held his own against Fort and OMc. I'd say that 20k extra for a chance to make 100k+ is a good spend at R3 but, again, I'm not a fan of throwing away a cash generation chance for a loophole.

176k just feels steep for what Sav is going to deliver to me, think hes really only going to be a 50-60 guy at best, Cats key defenders dont exactly rack up the footy, De Koning was elite by just about every metric and only hit 65, Henry and Kolo went below that mark in more accountable roles, if he drops 40s averaging 60 hes going to be lucky to make 100K in half a season at that price point.

Challenge is when Reeves was primary ruck last season he ave 68. Only 23 so on the cusp on gapping up you would expect in the next couple of years, whether this year or not. As mentioned, loss of JOM and Mitchell hurts his HTA which was a large component of his scoring.

I'd be very surprised if he did. Seen him take all of two ruck contests through 6 quarters in a side that will likely feature at least two of Goldy, Xerri and CCJ.

SDK made it to 360k by byes and 380k in the season, if Rat made it either of those numbers he's been an excellent rookie selection. Worth noting that Rat also went for marks and, surprisingly, gloved them which is where you can make big cash quickly. Cats all zone off and cover for each other a lot which means all can have big games. McCartin also made it to the 380k mark at the byes who probably plays a bit more like Rat showed.

Doesn't hurt that he'll face GCS, into Hawks, into Eagles for rounds 3-5 which is about as good a trio of "no opponent" matchups you could get to zone off and mark to.

I agree he's not some amazing prospect, every chance McKay kicks 10 on him in round 2 and the dream is over but if he can survive that game, I'd say he's got as easy a first 7 as a KPD could have. Peter Wright is probably the next best forward he faces after the Blues pair.

All contingent on Henry actually being genuinely injured and out for a while or I'm not even sure he plays round one, as good as he was beating up Box Hill.

I’d say Darcy based purely not on opposition rucks as there aren’t really stand out rucking teams these days except maybe Melbourne.

What I’m looking at is the quality of mids they’re playing and ability to get hitouts to advantage.

Saints, North, west coast, Adelaide, GC first 5 weeks is a pretty poor midfield group which is why I’d be leaning Marshall.

But very hard to assess rucking draws.

Hawks, Carlton, Geelong all teams with pretty poor rucks but then some teams have an okay ruck who you can beat around the ground like Essendon for Marshall owners.

Marshall should be able to compete with anyone due to his ability to rack up touches and hitouts like Grundy did. Darcy is more hitouts to advantage but can also take some nice contested grabs ala Gawn.
