Currently D1 for me, but must say I’m not sure if I’m happy about this report or not. Hearing that he is “learning” about stoppages and possibly flipping between mid and defence has me a bit nervous TBH. ... Also, the new father thing also adds an Extra element of uncertainty.
Over-reaction or reasonable assessment?
Tom Stewart was recovering from lisfranc injury last preseason and had a kid on the eve of round 1. Look how that turned out for people that faded him! ;)

Are Sinclairs price tag and Lyon being in charge the only thing putting people off him?

I think his price tag is worth it and is the highest scoring back for a reason and surely Lyon won't move him out of position and has a good run of games at docklands where most of his good scores came from

Had him at D1 for ages, Yeo at D2 but geez I’m not across everything like some here and all I've heard about Geelong this summer is crickets! Lol
Will try to see him in the praccy games to assess, atm the moment Ive put Diacos into D1
Theres time and space in the guts for someone with life after Selwood, Danger moving maybe to more forward time, so its definitely watch this space?
Holmes should get a pretty good go at it also this year, I do like the way Atkins goes about his footy.

I'd love to start him but I already have 4 Saints, we'll all wanna end up with him.

Lyon has indicated he will build on the speedsters. Sinclair’s dash from the half back line was a hall mark of his game last year. Can’t see that role changing. Shouldn’t be put off him!

I like Atkins but there's a lot of questions. At his price it's keeper or bust which means you're needing him to hit 105+ barring a big drop in the premium level. He's a good player but that's a big leap for a player who to date has rarely hit that level, ultimately he's a solid player and will definitely watch his role with Selwood retirement and the aging of other guys but definitely need to see something, just a super awkward price.

Sinclair the concern is definitely Lyon for mine but also that he started to get attention late last year and I expect that to continue. Mostly though we just don't know what the strategy will be, traditionally Lyon's teams do produce high scoring defenders, some of the highest we've seen, but will need to see that role there and that he has it. They've got Coffield likely returning, who definitely overlaps, NWM allegedly also playing as a rebounding defender and a couple of others that can also intercept that Lyon may prefer in that part of the role.

At his price I think there's a lot of merit to waiting to see if Sinclair is worth that price, I think the upside is pretty limited so you want to be damn certain of his scoring and, in all honesty, I think that Sicily, Stewart, Dawson and Docherty all present safer bets given their more proven scoring history and, in general, role certainty. Don't think the idea that Sicily is the top defender again is a bad call at all but I think there's a pretty strong case for him not being it also and generally at that price range the one thing you shouldn't have is uncertainty.

Havent seen much love for Caleb Daniel. Will that change with a big showing in the mids during the Ansett Cup?

Atkins is more worried about setting up defensively for the benefit of the team than winning the footy himself, amount of times hes the guy that blocks when Danger or Guthrie stream away with the footy is unreal.

Think Bruhn takes the Selwood mid time, been very good on the track.

This Daicos move to the guts isn't going to be all that great for his scoring. Feels too soon anyway, career-wise

Structure wise with Mitchell Adams JDG and Crisp is he even needed there? Isn't he of better value to the Pies playing behind the ball?

I'd much rather see Crisp playing his way into SuperCoach irrelevancy in the mids with Daicos reprising his half back role

Good for pies game plan
Not so good for Naicos SC growth in 2023

Think its good for his development as a player as theres a huge difference between dominating junior footy on ball and doing it at senior level against the big bodies, not the first kid to look pretty average in there, dont think its the best use of the player at this stage though, looked far more confident and effective once moved back in the 2nd half.

Anyone picking Caleb Daniel? Looks like he might have some midfield time this year.
If he does receive increased midfield minutes, will he be able to maintain his disposal and kicking efficiency along with his kick to handball ratio? Can he compensate enough with potential increased contested possessions and tackles if the aforementioned start to decrease?

Is he actually that good of a midfielder? Think I want to see it before Im using a defence spot on him, price probably doesnt change a great deal prior to our first upgrades.
He was actually a pretty average forward before he went to defence, 2019 and 2020 were his best 2 years but score started going backwards after that, I think that coincides with the improvement of Dale in 2021 and 2022. If he's playing mid he'd have to be Rover wouldn't he? Who knows how he'd go in there.

Getting nervous having Daicos D1, Yeo D2.

Thinking about losing a Fwd 'premo' (Rozee) down to Allen and lifting Coffield to Stewart. Sends Yeo to D3 but means I have to field Allen at F6 looping with Pou at F7.

Thoughts?
I think you pull the trigger on that move. I have Dawson over Stewart but it's just preference.

Yeah, like everyone else, just frigging around trying to get the structure settled until that last dangerous week.

Dropped Sheed and Fyfe, bolstered the ends of each line, plus shored up the defence.

*edit...Stewarts bye swung him in.
