I'd rather an elite defender than Rozee. Rozee is not even that cheap.
That’s the beauty of the game eh? Neither of us will know which line is correct until it’s too late.

For me, he averaged 93 with 9 scores being 76 or less. Another pre season, consistent favourable role and a (Hopeful) improvement to the side points at an increase.

Either way, I’m not trying to convince anyone to pick certain players. The intention is to identify where value presents and build your team around it. I just happen to believe it’s in defence this year.

I really rate Isaac Cumming from GWS.

Thoughts on - does Whits and Ash both being "released" to true halfback roles negatively effect Isaacs scoring
Probably caps him about 102. He will be able to produce a bit more intercept now Himmelberg will be forward. The two you mention will probably distribute enough to keep him from being 110.

Def/Mid Carlton 26yo Alex CINCOTTA $102,400

Blues' twin towers fire, Pies recruit shines in match sim (afl.com.au)
..........Pre-season Supplemental Selection Period recruit Alex Cincotta staked his claim for a potential round one debut, where he would cover for the summer losses of Zac Williams (knee) and Jordan Boyd (foot), with an exciting performance off half-back.........Alex Cincotta staked his claim for a round one debut with some exciting line-breaking runs out of the backline,............

Carlton Blues add mature-aged defender Alex Cincotta just before SSP deadline (afl.com.au)
Alex Cincotta has been elevated from the VFL to Carlton's AFL list..........CARLTON has bolstered its half-back stocks ahead of the 2023 season by adding VFL star Alex Cincotta to its rookie list............With gun running defender Zac Williams rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament............Carlton has been looking to add another defensive option across the past week...........Carlton has now rewarded Cincotta for his consistent performances in the Blues' VFL program.

The 26-year-old finished second in the best and fairest last year behind Paddy Dow, averaging more than 20 disposals and playing every game to put some injury-plagued seasons behind him. He has previously played for Geelong's VFL team.........

The Blues moved injured forward Sam Philp to their inactive list last week, which opened up a spot for Cincotta. "After a superb season in the reserves last year, we are delighted to elevate Alex onto the AFL list," Austin said.

"Alex will work closely with our defensive group, building on his craft and developing his skills even further. "He's a mature-age player, who already understands our system and has played with a lot of our group, so we're excited for Alex and pleased we've been able to provide him with an opportunity."

Sounds promising.

I thought the reporter was suggesting that Sam Mitchell mentioned Brockman as part of the midfield rotations?
In reference to this post.

Had Sicily & Doc at D1 / D2
My concern right now is more can you fade them and have a defence that doesnt ruin your season until that point, going Yeo,Bowes and rookies makes sense in theory but a couple get subbed or dropped and very quickly we are playing for a 5K rank.
Are you thinking of running 2 UBer and then Yeo at 3. OR (Sic Dawson Doch) with Yeo at 4.

Then take a punt on a F3 around the 300K like a Bruhn.?

He's $100k cheaper than the elite defenders.
With way less certainty to finish top 6 once potential DPPs like Gawn, Grundy etc are added to the forward line.

I just don't get the hype with Rozee - his role could easily change week to week, remain inconsistent and not push his average above 93.

His role didn't change much for the last 2/3s of last season, 15 games from round 6 last season with >50% cbas at an average of 109, trained as a midfielder the whole preseason, Boak playing more forward, still only 23 years old, priced at 93, seems like a fair bit of value there. You could argue that JHF has come in and that's valid but Rozee still had minimum 50% cbas in their last game.

There is no guarantee that your $600k defenders will finish top 6 of their line either, Tom Stewart wasn't even in the top 20 defenders for overall points last season.
