Thoughts on Jake Lloyd as a pod on Daicos/Young?

Takes a lot of kick outs or long rebound 50’s.

Averaged:
112 (2018)
109 (2019)
122 (2020)
108 (2021)

Down season last year possibly to bounce back?

No one really added that much to defense and if anything Blakey may be pushed further up the ground this year who stole a fair few points last year.

Too old? Durable sort of game style but is 33.

Don't like it, Blakey gets the most attention but Florent and McCartin also were added last year and both also took a lot of point sources away. I don't see Blakey moving anywhere, he's way too good in that role and been pretty ordinary in every other position.

Finally we clearly changed style over the last 18 months and it really didn't suit his point scoring style. I think he could improve slightly but I'd be surprised if he pushed back towards 110 which is what he needs to be at least very capable of.

Getting nervous having Daicos D1, Yeo D2.

Thinking about losing a Fwd 'premo' (Rozee) down to Allen and lifting Coffield to Stewart. Sends Yeo to D3 but means I have to field Allen at F6 looping with Pou at F7.

Thoughts?
Ill wait until after next weeks games, gut feel is Im going to need to spend more money down back though, Daicos and Young did nothing to boost my confidence and Sicily,Dawson and Stewart all looked very good, think buying them all for 550k might be fantasy land.

Stewart if he doesn't have a massive game could be the one that comes down if he cops a tag in the first few weeks. Dawson I reckon is one that could maintain his price more or less or not lose too much.

Very hard to tag players that can float between multiple positions, Dawson and Stewarts lockdown player has to be able to go play on a wing and not get exposed on the transition, clubs getting alot smarter with how they use these players.

You're like 99.9% likely to get all of Dawson, Stewart, Sicily or Docherty for $550k this year; the only question is when.
My concern right now is more can you fade them and have a defence that doesnt ruin your season until that point, going Yeo,Bowes and rookies makes sense in theory but a couple get subbed or dropped and very quickly we are playing for a 5K rank.

I reckon not only can we do it, but we should be doing it. We’re presented with an option of selecting 4 premium forwards, who are all arguably underpriced, as they’re playing full time mid or as close as practicable.

You have to take the value where it’s presented and this year it looks to be on offer in defence. Whether or not it goes arse up is anyone’s guess but without that information, defence appears to be where we should be scrounging pennies.
