Plenty of changes since my V1 posting a few weeks back.
Obviously the pre-season round this week will potentially influence some of the 50-50 calls that are part of the game when picking our initial squads. A few bench sposts are still rubbery - again waiting on this weekend & of course the R1 teams.

I've left a bit in the kitty as I expect to be trading hard in rounds 3-4-5 - would be nice not to, but inevitably things will look different with real scores and price movements to be considered.
DEFS - I'm obviously very light here compared to other lines. Hoping for good cash-gen from this set-up as its likely I'll be down on points compared to most other teams.
MIDS - I'm happy with this line. I'm even hoping for a bit of upside scoring from the 500-600K players and am running with (hopefully) a set of cheaper, rookie types who can all score well.
RUCKS - Fairly standard options. I had English in V1, but have drifted away. He has had those niggles and has a fairly tough run of early match-ups - now an upgrade watch/target.
FWDS - Have flipped this line around the most as there seem to be plenty of good options. Fyfe has been in and out but is there for now - seems such a good price for such a great player - would kick myself all season if I faded him & he plays well. Waiting to see how Cunnington shapes up this weekend.

Running with this at the moment.

Not sure if I’ll have the cahones to go with Yeo at D1.
I may go Callaghan and Bruhn down to rookies (bringing McLean on field) and then Coffield up to a Dawson type.

I do like the Bruhn / Callaghan picks. Maximising my on field points early, minimising the sub risk where I can, and having some more expensive rooks on the bench for that cash gen.

Few premos difference but this is basically my structure right now.

Was wondering the same thing, is supposedly playing this weekend. "Stephen Coniglio and Josh Kelly were sidelined with minor knocks picks up at training this week but are expected to return for next week’s pre-season game" https://www.gwsgiants.com.au/news/1275829/green-leads-the-way-in-front-of-home-town-crowd
Minor knocks and Cogs or Jelly... How many times have they turned into one, two, three weeks...

Heavier backline works better for my structure In any case.

My side feels very basic which I'm not overly happy with, a lot of popular players selected..

Bit thin in defence, would love to get Dawson in at D2 but think I prefer Taranto and Rozee in the Fwds they both could potentially be undervalued getting majority of the CBA's in their new role.

Stewart in my eyes is the pick of the 600k defenders, I see people are concerned about his early draw not playing at the cattery. Averaged 107 prior to his first game at home last season.

If cash is needed, Neale to Cripps/Bont/Macrae.

Not sure what to do with R1, not sold on Grundy but if he averages what he's priced at I'll call it a win, anything more is a bonus.

I like it. Could you dump Coniglio and upgrade Phillipou ?

Somewhere I'm happy to land for a while...

Still not super convinced on the bench rookies but there's still a week of practice games to figure that out. $10.9k bank.

Biggest compromise feels like the rucks, I was trying to rejig to get Darcy but it costs me someone else I don't want to lose when money is that tight.

Structurally I like having McAndrew R3 (who is at least a chance of making money, and will then drop out and hold value that way - kind of the reverse of a FDTP) and Sav in the forwards as the swing.

Heavy watch on Steele this week.
