E Ratugolea:
Position: Fwd/Ruck
Price: $174,000

2018: 54.4 from 8
2019: 58.8 from 17
2020: 68.8 from 12
2021: 55.7 from 13 (Subbed off 14)
2022: 39.5 from 4 (Subbed off 24)
Have shuffled my team around a bit today and now have Ratugolea and Phillipou as my F5/F6. McAndrew is currently my R3 which gives me some confidence to start Ratugolea who looks like cementing a spot down back and hopefully scoring okay in the process.

Coniglio down to Ratugolea has allowed me to go Weedle to Stewart down back which has definitely made my team look stronger overall.

Just have to hope and pray that McAndrew gets a gig round one and that Ratugolea doesn’t get dropped after a round or two

Port’s list boss Jason Cripps admitted that pick 33 was in the mix for Ratugolea but the Cats ultimately decided against the trade. But what was it about the deal that Geelong did not like? “You’d probably have to ask Geelong that and what their real reasons were,” Cripps said on SEN SA Breakfast. “Pick 33 was on the table. Everyone else can sit in judgment on whether that’s fair for a guy who played four games this year and wasn’t in their best 22. At the end of the day, it’s Geelong’s prerogative not to do the deal, he was contracted.
Pick 33 is a good pick so Geelong must rate him. But they could rate him as a great depth player in multiple roles.

Any WCE fans give some clarity as to why Oscar Allen averaged nearly 80 in 2020 but then fell back to just 63 in 2021, while playing nearly every game?

Was he one out up forward because of injuries to Kennedy and Darling? Is he going to be much better than that this year?

In 2020 he was being used as a backup ruck to NN & from memory he even helped out in defence when required.

2021 he didn't help out in the ruck as much & looked to be carrying niggles throughout the year/wasn't able to train much between games.

Shannon spot on. 20% ruck contests fell to 7% in 21.

After finally watching some footy, I've suddenly got too many forwards (and midfielders!) I want to start on the field.

Fyfe I guess was a pass for his price - 90SC in a game they won comfortably with 3 goals.
Then I look at their first 8 weeks and it's a pretty soft draw, with 5 of last years bottom 7 coming early...
St K, North, WCE, Ade, GC, WBD, Bris, Haw

You'd have to think he'll get some bags against those teams, just based on the number of entries coming in.

I reckon Bruhn is a pre-season trap. Duncan and Blicavs to come back with Danger taking more mid minutes when the season proper starts
Wouldn't be worried about Duncan.

Certainly Blics is a big issue (assuming he plays inside midfield, which he should) and also Danger more mid time (although may be needed up forward a little early without Hawkins and possibly Cameron for a round). As much as Bowes is being dismissed too, he should get some time in there as well.

In his first 9 matches last year, Bruhn had 39% CBA's for a 70 SC average. There was a nice 127 in there too.
Assuming he gets his CBA's up to 50% (arguably conservative) - I could see an 80 average pretty easily. Probably a nice $130K bump in price.

I feel like he won't be a bad pick, because he's underpriced, but not sure he will do enough at this stage (all rookies are underpriced too etc)

Which 3 of these 4 are people prioritising in order (I know a lot have all 4 but just want your top 3 factoring in price too):

Dunkley, Coniglio, Rozee, Taranto.

Dunkley is simply a lock. Rozee has looked great this pre-season, was excellent yesterday and looks to be predominantly a mid so I'd add him in there.

I know people say don't judge your premiums from a practice match but it could honestly be what separates Cogs and Taranto pending how they fare tomorrow with a close eye on CBA's in particular. If both look to be on par then the 50k saved by choosing Taranto over Cogs could really come in handy.

Having said that, I really can't find a way to get all four in my starting line up without compromising my structure and losing players I'd prefer on other lines (which I guess is probably why you're asking the question in the first place). I have a bit of FOMO re leaving Cogs out but he's already fully priced (we're not in March 2022 anymore!) and has a history of putting in the odd stinker so is probably the most likely to come down in price of those four.

Cogs went at 111 2nd half of last year. With Taranto gone, he could easily match that for 2023.
