Could be getting both Trac and Gawn as fwd dpps. The game last weekend certainly suggested that Trac will be pushed more forward.
Just looked into this further, it appears Tim Mitchell missed a key word that Trac said .... "might" :-

I hardly think the dees are going to significantly reduce the amount of time the premier inside midfielder of the comp spends in there especially where one of their main KPIs is winning the stoppages & clearances to get them field position. Winning the ball & getting if fwd allows them to setup behind the ball making it very hard for the opposition to penetrate their defence with the likes of May/Lever/Gawn zoning off taking intercept marks.

Nothing to worry about regarding Oliver for mine.

Isn't many rookies I actually want to own under 150K, I'm happy enough to be slightly weaker on field if it means I'm going to get cash generation right, don't want to be stuck with 5 blokes not getting past 200K, that's the fear I have with the Davey,McAndrew,Baker,Greene,Comben etc benches.
Comben probably makes it over $300k if he stays injury free.

Could be at Round 15 though.

He probably plays every game, JS should be there. Would be good if he did some relief ruck work, not going to happen though.
Hard to see anything much above 40 if he doesnt rotate into the Ruck, and feels inevitable theyll play 2 of Goldy,Xerri and CCJ.

Will have to pray for a spike game and hope that he doesnt back it up with a 20.

Much prefer picking Chandler in that spot at the moment, job security far worse but should have alot better scoring potential, knows where the goals are and really pushes up the ground had 25 and 23 in the PF and GF for Casey.

Would be great if Sturt could save us :D
Will be interested where they play him, has plenty of potential if he can actually have some luck with his body for 5 seconds, was talk of midfield scope in his limited draft year and was a big reason he bolted into the top 20 training on the wing apparently so definitely one to watch.

Managed to string together 8 or 9 games for Peel in the back half of last year and kicked 7.6 in his last two games. Fitness the obvious issue, but I also understand he was asked to work on his in-game intensity, which he appears to have done.

As a Freo fan I want to see him succeed, but given who is currently out of the side, personally I dont see him as a best 18 player, sort of more in that 19-25th picked player. Walters, Frederick the obvious like for likes who I think will be walk up starts if they are fit for round 1. From the 26 players selected for tonight's game, Reidy, Johnson, Hamling, Amiss and one of Hughes/Banfield and probably Wilson drop out. Which leaves 20, then you need to fit in Walters, Frederick, Jackson, Luke Ryan and maybe NOD...so something else has to give.

For what it's worth, Sturt isnt currently in my starting team and unless he has an exceptional performance tonight, probably wont end up there either.

Geez I'm seeing a lot of MP's putting their hands up this pre season, looking at those guys that have changed teams, playing to their strengths, could be a repeat of last year.
If I get time (doubtful) I would like to go through every one of them and analyse exactly how they fit, points obviously because that leads to cash generation, but role change mainly.

Maybe enter my Midprice Madness comp? :)

It doesn't take very long to enter a team, and it is lock and load, so once your team is in, you don't need to touch it for the rest of the season. The link is in my signature.

Just playing around with fitting them into a side will help you work out if you want them in your main team or not. Possibly.

Can't remember a year where pre-season games posed more questions than answers.

As we take in all available information, one thing that sticks out to me is the poor rookies which are available in the fwd line this year especially who to put in as F5/F6 on the field. In no particular order

1. McLean who had minimal CBA's - how is he supposed to go through the guts with Bont/Libba/Macrae/Treloar/Baz, etc, poor return at an elevated price tag?
2. Allen - will be up and down, think we've seen his floor
3. Sheezel - being trialed in multiple positions during pre-season, didn't he do rubbish the week before and look lost in HB? yet he somehow managed to scrape a 70 by doing well in the last 1/4. Pretty risky imo
4. Chandler - poor role and will have a low floor as well, no thanks
5. F Green - looked the goods but not sure i have the nads to put him on the field
6. Comben - the new relton? :D (sorry thats a bit harsh)

Probably missed a few but point being is that i'm thinking we need to pay up for some mid pricers (likes of Bruhn, Flanders, etc) to round out F5/F6, not to mention that some of these fwd rookies might be sub risks.

Really difficult year to finalise teams imo

Think we are all but forced to bat deeper up forward, just look to flick Bruhn and Flanders later on.

Regarding the F5 & F6 spots, this info is very helpful:-

Worth noting that O. Allen average comes when WC we're a decent team and also when he had the number 2 or 3 defender.
Similarly, King I'd expect to average more given the improvement at GC as well - but who knows.
And Ratagoleas numbers are as deep fwd switching into ruck not an intercept defender.

Allen seems the most likely to consistently score as he will show how good he is this year.
Rat fits my structure best with the ability to cover the ruck line when things go pear shaped.
