Hi Rowsus,

What are your thoughts on Josh Kelly? He looked pretty impressive when he came on and he scored well also.
I'm thinking of trading Michie to him after this week so I get Michie's price rise and it should only cost me about 10k and I could bring in potentially one of the best scoring rookies this season.

Thanks

Hi Rowsus, thanks so much for answering my question - your middle name must be 'reliable'!

Hi PB,
I have a simple question for you, did you believe Zorko would be top 6 before the season started? Obviously the answer is "no", as he isn't currently in your team.
Like a lot of Supercoachers, my current team wasn't my first one. In fact, it was revision 16 or 17. In most revisions I had Zorko and Dahlhaus as F4 & F5. I ended up going with T Mitchell and Pavlich instead...which hasn't been too bad a decision for Mitchell (93 & 97 scores in game losses), but terrible for Pavlich. I see it more of a corrective trade than a side-ways trade...although it doesn't change the fact that it IS a side-ways trade!

It's an interesting thing, human nature. The fact that he has scored so high above expectations in the first 2 games actually means both Mathematically, and Historically, he less likely to be in the top 6 for the rest of the season! Yet so many people are assuming he has arrived. It is possible he has, and he will continue on to be a fantastic pick. More likely though, a correction will come! It's very dangerous to adjust your expectations so much on the back of 2 games information.
As long as you are not facing a donut, there is no problem with ignoring your Def problems this week. Hurn's price won't be moving, so you can fix that next week.
I have both Pav and Roughie, and think they are worth persisting with, but if you have to pull the trigger, I'd ditch Pav before Roughie.
Good luck. :)
I agree with you about the Hurn trade. Because he's going to be out for at least 3 weeks (I've heard talk of 6), and he's only scored twice, he won't be changing in price. Therefore, if Sam Mitchell is cleared to play then I can wait until week 3 trades to swap Hurn. By then some of the premiums will have dropped in price, so that would be the ideal trading time.

In your opinion Rowsus, which is the more important trade if I am forced to do a defenders trade with Hurn?
The forward side-ways trade, or the ruck upgrade?

Thanks for your time!
And good luck for your team too! :) It must be very frustrating to have the potential to score 2300, but with a perfect storm of injuries and underperformance be heavily punished. :(

Hey Pro,
I think Tyson needs to be taken this week, but I am not sure I'm happy to use Aish to get there. Have you considered keeping Aish, and using Fyfe to Tyson? It makes cash both ways. As to Zorko/Swallow, that really is a toss of the coin. Looking at your Def and Fwd lines, I would go Swallow.
Good luck :)
Hey Rowsus! thanks for the reply! Do you think Fyfe should be tarded when hes only out for 2 weeks? Im very inclined to keep him

Hey Rowsus.

Just wondering you who think will be the top 15 (Pure) Midfielders for total points scored for the rest of the season?

And would it be worth trading Dale Thomas to Zorko in the midfield - seeing as I have a full complement of premiums (or hopefully premiums) in the forward line.
Hi Eagling,
my highest 15 PIT80 Midfielders for the last 20 games are (I have assumed missed games for some, so it is based on my opinion of the game count, and season average)
Ablett 2427, Pendlebury 2404, Swan 2370, Cotchin 2298, Liberatore 2227,
Selwood J 2224, Watson 2221, Griffen 2174, Dal Santo 2146, Steven 2127,
Deledio 2122, Boak 2108, Murphy 2105, Jack K 2105, Johnson S 2103.
If some of them look or seem a bit strange, don't forget there are missed games to come factored in.

I think Thomas to Zorko sounds like one of those flavour of the month, look back with regret trades. Zorko might make a few more points, but Thomas will make more dollars. Neither feel like Keepers to me. Zorko might make F6, with his first 2 scores in, but I don't think he will make F6 from here to the end of the season.

Hey rowsus! any reason why zorko or swallow won't make f6/d6? Both with changed roles and in 'breakout' territory, zorko with a new coach as well as having averaged over 100 before.

LOL, WOW! labelled him one of the better scorers based on 1 game with 31% TOG. I must admit, he did look good in that time, and if he looks just as good this week, remembering it is only Melbourne they play this week, then it could be a plan! :)

Upgrade beats sideways, everytime!
Thanks PB, yeah my team was very frustrating last week, but we get to reload, and go again this week! :)

Thanks for that, Rowsus. Of course I'm disappointed to have not chosen Zorko in my forward line so far (but that may change), but I'm likely going to accept that I've missed out on him.

My focus this week is getting Dom Tyson in and watching to see if Shannon Hurn needs an instant replacement (Will Langford with the E loophole might be able to stand in this week.)

For some Coaches he's a keep, for others he's a trade. Given you will get to use the cash well, as well as generate more cash, I'd do it.

Sorry for so quickly following one question with another, Rowsus, but if you were to consider a sideways trade, what would be your cut off points assuming that in

Case A: The PIT80 expectations were the same, how much cash would you want to instantly generate with the trade?

For example, you wouldn't consider a sideways trade of the same PIT80 average unless you made $100k...

Case B: The price is the same or thereabouts, how many 100's of PIT80 points would you want from the trade (say an upgrade from 2000 to 2200 PIT80 points)

Hi Man,
it's possible Hooker has had a change of role under a new Coach, but I'd prefer to think it's just a little hot streak. Not many 197cm backmen score consistently over 90.
There's not too many alternatives that won't eat into your kitty. Mays' scores look good, but they are on low possessions without goals, and are therefore a bit misleading on his true prospects I think. I keep recommending Melbourne Defenders (dunn or Terlich) to people as they are cheap, and get heaps of possessions under the new game plan, but no one wants them. Johson M from freo is a possibility, too. He is ultra consistent without too many large scores. He has finished just outside the top level the last couple of seasons.
I'm SO glad that I trusted my instincts and went with Dunn ... one of my best picks so far (and such a unique option (<0.5% ownership).

I am sure you have read my opinion on him in the last few answers.
SC Gold says his B/E is -33, but I believe they have their B/E's wrong again this season, just like early last season. I think his B/E is closer to -16.
To calculate his potential price rise use this:

(score - B/E) x 440, so if you think he will score 100 this week, he should rise by about $51k.
Correct, don't trust the SC website for B/E information. His B/E is actually -16.

Just my opinion. Zorko has averaged 100 before, but not over 100! :p
Don't forget, the question you need to ask is not "will they finish F/D6 for the season?", but "will they finish F/D6 from here to the end of the season?". For all we know, their changed roles are temporary, and will be changed when players come back. Also, opposition Coaches can be quick to shutdown players like this. There are a lot of things that need to be overcome before I'd be pencilling them in to finish that high. The history of SC is littered with players that started a season well, and had people just "assuming" they will continue on that path, only to have them to revert to something like their old scoring patterns in a short period of time. There's a lot of Water to pass under the bridge yet, but both of them to me have the feel of "great job if you started with them, but you've missed the boat if you didn't".

Ahhhh.... an easy question at last! :D
Most SC Coaches do about as much forward thinking and analysis on their SC trades as they do on next Tuesdays lunch! Not the Coaches here though! ;) They are lazy, and see Ambrose's 81 and "just assume" he is a must have. They don't look beyond this coming week. If Ambrose plays this week, and gets dropped next week, they will be the ones around the watercooler at work, bemoaning their bad luck. "Man, I wasted a trade on him, and he only played one game for me! :(". Keep in mind, there are about 40-50,000 keen SC players, and 300,000 that just play for a bit of fun, conversation, and bragging rights over their mates. I agree with you. Despite his low scores, Taylor would appear to have better JS going forward than Ambrose. I already have Taylor at M10, and I don't think I will be doing JKH/Impey to Ambrose. I just don't see the benefit in it. A Little bit like Zorko/Swallow, those that started with Ambrose did well, but I won't burn a trade to bring him in.

That's a tough one. Case A definitely depends on the circumstances. In general I'd like $120-$130k+, BUT I'd be happy to take $90-$100k, if that money was going to allow an immediate upgrade to a Super Premium/Genuine Premium I couldn't reach without it.
As to Case B, I'd probably want at least 300-350 points, if you were only getting 200 points over the season, it sounds like the type of upgrade you should be doing near the end of filling your team.

Along this line of thought, Crouch the younger has a door open. With Taylor at M10, Impey, Rohan, or McDonough to him via DPP perhaps. Prefer Crouch to Ambrose on promise at least.

Definitely a possibility, but I'd wait for the bubble first.
