My work account is, I believe, we use teams for everything. However, I do have a Zoom account to host webinars and one off meetings (not a super user). Sure I can figure it out, want to send me emails or have we historically just posted the link in here?
Post a link in here and the Draft comments section.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a change to how the RFA drafting will occur. Rather than all RFAs being auctioned at the conclusion of the FA auction, RFAs will be auctioned where the fall within the overall FA/RFA list. The same auction process will apply as in previous seasons.

SALARY AND CONTRACT CAPS

The Dashboard and Individual Team Tabs will count the average salary for all players. This may put teams over the salary cap. However, if you are picking up a 2CP not signed by their team, they are able to be signed to a back end contract, and therefore the true nature of the remaining and/or end salary will not be truly indicated by these tools.

Teams must always remain at or below the salary and contract caps. Therefore, teams may need to release players into the FA or RFA pool during the FA and RFA signing periods. The rule applies for the 10 year maximum contract period, not just the current season. Please keep this in mind when structuring contracts.

This rule applies for all seasons, current or future.

One of the reasons the rule is in place is to protect teams from getting into a hole which from which they can't extract themselves. This has implications for all other teams and the competition in general.

Given everyone has expiring contracts the following years shouldn't be, and haven't been, an issue. However, it applies to all seasons.

Being over the cap with players to accommodate creates a big hole to overcome. Whilst this appears to be something that could be overcome via retirements, delistings and trading, being over the salary cap to this degree is not permitted.

Reasoning:
Let's say a team has a neutral salary cap ($0 ITB) in 2026. Given an average list profile, it will have over 20 players to sign via different means. Signing those players at a minimum would put the team over the salary cap by $2M, but more realistically $4 - $5M.

That team would be looking to move on multiple $1M+ to other teams. Not many teams are likely looking to acquire this type of contract, and it would require multiple trades.

The end result is likely a non compliant team and/or a team unable to field 22 players.

Thanks Ken for the rule clarifications!

One more - I may have heard incorrectly but during the RFA, there seemed to be a comment that there could be further bids from other coaches even after the original coach had matched the highest bid. If that’s right, I think this seems to be inconsistent with how the RFA auction has operated in previous years. E.g I recall having matched the highest offers for Fritsch and O Allen in the past without other coaches being then allowed to make further bids to better the matched offer.

Again, may have misheard and in any case, no such situation arose this time around but would be good to have this clarified for the future as I think this sort of change would somewhat diminish the value of the RFA rights

It is an auction, so it goes on until the highest bid is found. The team with the RFA has the right to have the final bid, and it only has to match, not exceed, the highest bid by other teams. Therefore teams need to put there best bid forward.

Thanks Ken! This seems to confirm that once the highest bid of the other teams is matched by the original coach with the RFA rights, the other teams don’t have a right to then re-bid.

I was actually going to ask this as well as I had the same thoughts during the auction. What you've highlighted was also my understanding - other teams can bid amongst themselves and need to put their best offers forward. The team holding RFA rights then has a yes or no decision to make without the need to get caught in a bidding war. No further bids if RFA team says yes.

Please double check that you have chosen all the 2nd Contract players you wish to keep.

Also, that all salary structures meet the 50% rule and/or back end/front end compliant.

Non compliant salary structures will be set to average across the years.

DUMB RULES: Which Shouldn't Have to be implemented.
  • Salary structures not completed, or are non compliant, by the deadline with be set to Average Salary as per the contracted years.

A quick update (I know you’re all desperate to know 😋) - barring any very late interest I will not extend Jack Carroll, to free up a spot.

Pick 35 will be available for use in live trades, so if that appeals to you, please let me know.

I have front ended a few contracts as well (McDonald, Ellis, JOM).
