Yeah that’s why the question, Sav handy then but pretty hopeless in ever other way at his price. Can’t make the call on the Rat, probably go without and just hope no injuries in the first 6 weeks.

What are people planning to do if Marshall breaks a finger in round 3 and is out for one week maybe two?

If no cash McIreney. Depends on other corrections...eg. failed premo to Gulden who just repeated his preaeason game with 180pts in rnd 2 etc.

But (insert uber elite midfield gun you didn't pick) has dropped to under $650k - but he's about to go on a very juicy run. Do you go for him? Do you trade out your $400k midpricer or do you boost and go 2 down 1 up with rookies? Would your decision change if you'd used 10 trades and 2 boosts thus far?

My boosts plans, probably rnd 3 correction, I couldn't resist last year. Rnds 5/6 for a further 4 rounds. If I need to save one from that list for an additional sling shot in rnd 15 I will, as I'm a bit heavy on rnd 15 bye players. So yeah it's the double down, always looking to get the rookie off field, because you're maximising your onfield scoring power. Cheers

I wouldn’t cop a donut that’s for sure.

1 - Trade Marshall to a cheaper performing ruck if there is one.
2 - If DCam or Jackson are performing well, trade my worst performing fwd premo (if there is one) to them, and switch them to the ruck line as cover via Madden.
3 - Make another correction trade to a player that’s going to make cash and use the spare $ to get Marshall up to a higher priced ruck.

Always going to be ‘what if’s’ in this game.

I know we drum on about the 36 trades, but I do think the contingencies of certain situations are not as difficult as years gone by, always options.

Try this perspective:

By Round 6 your starting team are not really rookies or mid-pricers any more, they are just players with value based on what they will score from that point forward.

A $400k player who will average 80 going forward (even if they are averaging more/less up to this point) offers no more value than a $600k player who will average 120. The $400k player just scores less points. The equation for winning becomes less about direct value and more about getting the most points on field.

So if you can convert cash on the bench into points on field, without sacrificing any unrealised value from your pool (players with cash still to make) you absolutely trade. The sooner the better!

Having trouble getting both a D/M and a F/M link in my midfield.

Currently have Mackenzie @ M8, with Phillips and Baker as 2 of my 3 bench spots. The 3rd spot can then either go to someone like Chesser / Cincotta (D/M), or to someone like Davey / McLean / Phillipou (F/M).

Alternative is to replace M3 (currently Kelly) with Dunkley, and re-introduce Coniglio to F1.
