English seems viable to me.
With comments about Campbell playing I've gone a set and forget option of Witts and English (if they stay fit). Both clear number 1 rucks for their team and both should be in top 5 rucks come season end (if they stay fit). Hope to get Gawn as R/F for coverage as my 1st upgrade after round 6. Good luck

Nice one.

Normally the first thing I do is put a line through anyone who is in a ruck share. I wonder if that isn’t still the right approach, even if the names involved have better records.

I do have a few concerns with how the Gawn and Grundy scenario works, it worked on the weekend but it also took kicking 3 to get there, not sure that's sustainable and could lead to some pretty poor fluctuations in scoring from a guy we are paying 620k to pick in Gawn's case, feel like theres downsides to every Ruck though and you've got to settle on two of them.

Think I might do the same thing, I hate having to make decisions like this on the eve of the first game, (had Gawn and Marshall locked in).
Started Witts and English last year and was happy with Witts but English was a bunch of trades used with his missed games. Hopefully he's fit enough to stay out there for awhile and rack up some decent scores.

Anyone game enough to go De Koning now that he's beat Pittonet out.. although I guess they could play both next week

Showed very little as primary ruck last year (not 1 100+ score)

They could easily play both in future weeks (probably not in the short term as our opponents are mostly solo rucks) or could easily be Pitt instead of TDK. Pitt played VFL last week - probably still getting full fitness back.

I think people may be over reacting a little to the Tom Campbell quote personally. Feels like some classic Ross Lyon bull**** to me - lets see if he even gets named first.

Does make some sense for the saints to want some help for him in round 1 against the Darcy/Jackson combo but Marshall is still the main guy and I don't think Campbell is anywhere near their long term or even medium terms plans.

We only have one game of data to work off when they have both played together and it although it doesn't read well it's a very small sample space with a different coach when the Saints season was already over.

This

Ross also mentioned about Cordy & Howard possibly playing fwd along with Campbell possibly playing.

It was a very typical Ross presser where he gives nothing away/ very cagey & vague, honestly taking anything he says with a grain of salt.
