Do we think that Cowan and Wilmots JS is essentially very similar?
Extra $6k would help me finish with preferred rookies/mid pricers in other lines.

Yep. 80+ ave for the first 8 weeks for Callaghan is possible given the early GWS schedule - they have a nice early draw.

If he can get 20/25% inside mid time also (Kingsley did mention wing & some time inside) then that certainly will help him get the 80+ average.

These wingmen averaged over 80SC last year :-
Acres 86
Smith 86 (wing/hff)
Ellis 85
Morrison 81
Amon 96 - 17%CBAs
Gaff 81 - 21% CBAs

So it has some risk involved absolutely but he is an elite talent that I think can do it with his early draw & if given some inside mid mins.

With Hopper & Taranto gone, Ward moved to the fwd line, Ash to the backline & Leon out of the picture so can’t make bizarre moves, the GWS midfield mix has really changed.

It looks like Green/ Perryman( their defensive mid, run with player), Kelly & Cogs are the main 4 with O’Halloran & Callaghan having the odd stint in there as part of the rotation.
Jarrod Berry is considered above average talent and his scoring was trash on a wing early last season. Callaghan has played what, three games of AFL football?

Is caminiti out the moment Membrey is back? Or does he hold a spot until King is back?
I saw Saints supporters having Caminiti in their best 22s even with Membrey. Unless he really stinks it up (possible) it seems like he's fairly safe until King is back, which won't be until R6 at the earliest. Saints don't have a lot of options at the moment.

I saw a few that wanted Cordy or Battle moved from the backline to pair with Cooper Sharman with Caminiti missing out.
Hard to know with a new coach and so many inj. players.

The only true answer to that is, he stays if his form warrants it.

So Hollands and Cowan. Either worth a spot?

(Sorry to be this guy, but I've just started 2 new jobs that have taken up my pre-season, but in 2 weeks or so I'll have time to concentrate. I don't want to miss out on the season because of life. :)

Any advice will be incredibly well rewarded - somehow.

Cowan is in a lot more teams than Hollands - both have middling job security but there are better options in the mids than Hollands imo. Writing this 20 minutes before more team info drops i'd say Cowan is worth it and Hollands is not.

Update: After the teams have dropped I have replaced Phillips with Hollands and have both now

Cowan maybe?...he had 90% efficiency in the last practice match, Hollands had 17 possies and 440 metres gained

Most are probably going with both, there's quite a few options down back but I'm not seeing a great deal in the mids after Ashcroft, Mackenzie, Phillips TBH

If Baker misses I agree with you. If not, then teams can have on their bench Phillips, Baker, Davey if they run Sturt and Greene up forward.

Anyway, we will know soon

I don't think Hollands is a bad choice - just way more options in the mids with the mid pricers and high priced rookies taking up so much space on a lot of teams. Some unexpected team sheets could really shake things up still though
