Think Davey a chance at a spike score in bombers soft start.
Caminiti will rely on a spike but can't see it coming too early.
Comben. Who knows when/if Goldy back to take that spot.

Giving myself a couple of rounds to look at Davey. He's a massive sub risk but at his price, that's not as bad as with some of our other rookies. It's just that, which rookie do I cull for him? I then need to have the discipline to not spend the savings so that he can be corrected if needs be.

Davey should at least start out as a bench rookie so I can wait on him but I agree - he's a chance of an 80 or two with that soft draw

Anyone concerned about Ziebell having to be accountable for Darling looking at the North team named they are very short in defence. Logue will go to Allen, but who lines up on Darling and who gets to roam free and be more unaccountable?
Yep. Forced me to downgrade Stewart to Ridley so I could afford Ziebell to Gulden. He’ll either play on Darling or the resting ruck (likely Jamieson).

On the HT siren Saad kicked a ball from near the centre square and it went off Nank’s hands and through for a point. Surprised no one has noticed that yet.
If it's gone off Nank's hands and the siren has gone it should be no score as the ball is back in play once it has touched his hands.

Really? If that’s right then Richmond have been robbed. I’m pretty sure it should be a point though by my understanding.

Got Rat at R3 with E atm. In the unlikely scenario he tons up tonight, I could turf one of my rucks and bring in Madden and another premo for a rookie elsewhere, and make my ruck first upgrade. Of course this is spoiled if Rats becomes a disaster after his ton.
I have thought much about this

Could bring in Luke Jackson as well for extra backup, with the advantage that he takes a FWD rookie off the field.

He played small forward & wing in the praccy match & had plenty of it.

Much prefer having him at F6 than Sheezel.
This is the question I’m trying to figure out. Is he worth the extra money. The split in the practice game was almost exclusively wing though wasn’t it? Very few minutes in the “pocket” from my recollection. I will admit he’s not someone I watched carefully as I was certain we’d get a forward line that didn’t need to include him.

Appreciate the answer.

He starts forward but was pushing up to the contests to become an extra outside midfielder. He won't play exclusively in the forward line.

Hopper's game, albeit one, made me second guess mid priced risks. I've faded Flanders and Bruhn but kept F Callahan. Hard to really know which will take the step, fair bit of luck. Plenty of mid price correction trades come round 3 I reckon. It's fun to take risks of a few though.

SUNDAY will see a number of forgotten faces return to the football field for the first time, with Rory Sloane, Brent Daniels and Nathan Wilson named in their respective teams.

Adelaide will unleash recruit Izak Rankine for the first time, while father-son draftee Max Michalanny will make his debut.

Former skipper Sloane will play his first official game since rupturing his ACL in April last year.

In a good news story for the often injury-hit Greater Western Sydney, Daniels has been named after shaking off a last-minute hamstring complaint. He last played in round 21, 2021, after missing all of last year due to the issue.

An untimely dislocated shoulder on Friday morning to best and fairest Peter Wright has paved the way for recruit Sam Weideman to make his debut for Essendon, with comeback kid Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti named an emergency.

Both Dyson Heppell (foot) and Jye Caldwell (ankle) have been named after getting through training unscathed.

Classy Hawk Harry Morrison has not recovered from his hamstring injury in time to face the Bombers.

St Kilda has named two debutants in Mattaes Phillipou and Anthony Caminiti for its match against Fremantle, while Marcus Windhager has failed to recover in time from a hand injury.

Sunday will also see the return of Jack Bytel for the first time since 2021, having spent last year primarily playing in the VFL.

The Dockers have opted for a forward line consisting of talls Matt Taberner, Luke Jackson and Josh Treacy, with Nat Fyfe named at full-forward.

Speedster Wilson has been picked after just two games last season.
